Torino and Monza meet  on Friday after both sides delivered their best performances of the campaign earlier this week.

The Granata eased to a comfortable away win at Parma, while Monza recorded the biggest Serie A win in their history by putting four goals past Cagliari.

Both teams should carry plenty of confidence into this contest, and their recent defensive records suggest chances at both ends are likely.

Torino

Torino team overview

Torino return to Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino after securing an impressive 3:0 victory against Parma at Stadio Ennio Tardini on Monday.

Giovanni Simeone scored twice, while Che Adams was also on target as Ignazio Abate's side claimed their second successive Serie A victory.

The Granata had beaten Udinese 2:1 before the international break and are now up to 10th in Serie A after collecting ten points from their opening seven league fixtures.

A lack of clean sheets has been an issue for the Turin-based side. Torino conceded at least one goal in each of six previous fixtures. Five of those games finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Home form also remains a concern. Torino lost against AC Milan and Roma before edging to a narrow victory against Udinese in their most recent contest at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Head coach Abate has a couple of injury doubts this weekend. Franco Israel and Pietro Pellegri face late fitness checks.

Adams and Simeone should continue in attack after combining for all three goals at Parma.

AC Monza

Monza team overview

Monza travel to Turin after claiming a superb 4:0 home victory against Cagliari on Monday.

Eddy Kouadio opened the scoring before Gustavo Varela struck twice and Jay Robinson added a fourth in the second half.

Monday’s win was the biggest in Monza's Serie A history and lifted Ivan Juric's side up to 14th in Serie A with seven points from seven games completed.

The newly promoted visitors have proven an entertaining watch this season. An average of exactly four goals per game were scored in their first seven league fixtures. BTTS landed in six of those games while at least three goals were scored in seven of nine competitive matches since August.

On the road, Juric’s men have struggled. Monza have taken only one point from four away league matches, suffering defeats against Inter, Lecce and Lazio. Their only road point came from a 1:1 draw at Parma.

Head coach Jurice has some selection concerns ahead of the trip to Turin. Matteo Pessina and Jan Ziolkowski remain unavailable, while Idrissa Toure and Patrick Ciurria require late fitness checks.

Lorenzo Lucchesi is available again after serving a one-match suspension.

Prediction

Torino and Monza should approach Friday's contest with renewed confidence after recording emphatic victories earlier this week.

The visitors have scored in all seven Serie A games this season but remain vulnerable at the back while Torino have kept just one clean sheet since August.

Both teams to score is my best bet at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Four Reasons Why We Expect BTTS

  1. Monza have seen BTTS in 6 of their 7 matches (Serie A)
  2. Torino have seen BTTS in 5 of their 7 matches (Serie A)
  3. Monza scored in all 7 Serie A fixtures this season (Serie A)
  4. Torino failed to keep a clean sheet in 6 of their last 7 matches (Serie A)
