Ipswich have produced some entertaining matches this season, with their Premier League fixtures averaging 3.7 goals per game heading into Matchweek 8. The major concern, however, remains their defensive record, as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in the league this season and have conceded in 26 consecutive Premier League matches, extending a club record. 

Their recent results underline that combination of attacking threat and defensive vulnerability. Ipswich beat Fulham 2-1 before putting up a strong fight in a 3-2 defeat against Manchester City. They have also recorded an impressive 3-2 away victory over Crystal Palace.

Emersonn Correia da Silva has emerged as an important attacking outlet, scoring twice this season. Leif Davis has also contributed two goals and remains a significant threat from the left. 

Abdul Fatawu is expected to return to the starting XI after serving his one-match ban against Manchester City, while midfielder Sasa Lukic is a doubt because of injury.

Forest arrive in considerably poorer form, having lost their last three matches. They have only five points from their opening seven games and have struggled particularly for goals, with their matches averaging just two goals per game, the lowest figure in the division. 

However, Forest's away record provides encouragement. They have scored in 13 consecutive away Premier League matches, a club record stretching back to January 2026. That makes them dangerous opponents for an Ipswich defence that has yet to register a clean sheet this season. 

Forest could welcome back Morgan Gibbs-White, who was close to returning recently. Igor Jesus and Nicolo Savona remain unavailable, while Nikola Milenkovic is also a fitness concern.
