Bodo/Glimt vs Union Saint-Gilloise prediction 11.08.2026 | Champions League Qualifiers

Last season, Bodo/Glimt missed out on the domestic league title by only one point. This year, they are once again looking like one of the best teams in Norway as they are at the top of the league table with 41 points in 17 rounds - 2.41 per game. But their most impressive performances recently were in the Champions League in the 2025/26 season, beating teams like Manchester City, Inter, Atletico Madrid, and Sporting CP. So, there is no doubt that they are capable of reaching at least the League Phase, but it seems that won't be an easy task based on the first leg. 

Two players who missed the previous leg, August Mikkelsen and Hakon Evjen, should remain sidelined with their injuries. For the previous game against Valerenga, most football pundits expected a heavily rotated squad. Still, coach Kjetil Knutsen made only three changes compared to the Champions League Qualifiers game vs Union Saint-Gilloise.

Union Saint-Gilloise finished 2nd in Belgium last season, despite being in a pretty good situation to do so a few rounds before the end of the season. Still, it wasn't a bad campaign, especially because they managed to secure a cup title. This year, they started the season very well in the domestic competitions as they won the Super Cup, and opened the Jupiler Pro League with a massive 5:1 win over Westerlo.

The biggest problem for Royale Union in this phase of the competition is the fact that their best goalkeeper, Kjell Scherpen, left the club to join Ipswich, and his replacement, Herve Koffi, isn't yet registered for the CL Qualifiers. 

Compared to the first leg, the team will most likely be without central defender Ross Sykes, who suffered a shoulder injury against Bodo/Glimt.
