After six games in the 2025-26 National League campaign, Gateshead have won only three times and are currently in third place.

Two of these victories came within the last ten days, with wins against Tamworth and Yeovil Town by scores of 2:1 and 4:3, respectively. Eager to secure a third consecutive win, Alun Armstrong’s team hosted Aldershot Town last weekend, and the match got off to a promising start.

They took the lead after only five minutes thanks to Kyle Hurst, but had to fight for a draw as their visitors scored twice before half-time. The game ended in a 3:3 draw, and the Tynesiders will be eager to bounce back this week. The good news Gateshead fans is that the squad is free of injuries and suspensions.

Meanwhile, Altrincham have won only two of their six league games so far this season, with the other four resulting in defeat. The visitors actually got off to a good start, winning their opening fixture 3-2 against Aldershot Town.

Last weekend, the Robins returned to their usual form as they conceded two goals again and lost 2-1 to Eastleigh. That said, Altrincham fans will be encouraged by the fact that their last three wins against Gateshead were all away from home.
