Besiktas return to Istanbul after claiming a resilient 1:0 victory in the Czech Republic last Thursday.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side were reduced to ten men when Kassoum Ouattara was dismissed in the second period, but despite their numerical disadvantage, the Black Eagles secured victory thanks to substitute Semih Kilicsoy’s late header.

Besiktas have now won all three of their Europa League qualifiers this season without conceding a goal.

The Turkish side previously eliminated Midtjylland with a 3:0 aggregate victory, securing 1:0 and 2:0 wins against the Danes. 

Head coach Italiano will be forced into at least one change to his selection. Kassoum Ouattara is suspended following his first-leg dismissal, while Leandro Trossard is not eligible to feature following his move from Arsenal. 

Wilfred Ndidi returned from an ankle injury in the first leg and could earn a starting place on Thursday.

Hradec Kralove travel to Istanbul after bouncing back to winning form with a 2:1 domestic victory against Banik Ostrava. Tom Slončík bagged a brace as David Horejs’s side extended their unbeaten start to the Czech First League. 

While unbeaten domestically, the Czech side come into this fixture needing to overturn a one-goal deficit to extend their Europa League campaign.

David Horejs’s side created several opportunities in the first leg but failed to take advantage after Besiktas were reduced to ten men.

The Czech side registered nine shots on target and created four big chances, only to be denied by an inspired Alexander Nubel.

Hradec secured their place in the Conference League third qualifying round with an impressive win against Norwegians Tromso, claiming victories in both legs to complete a 4:1 aggregate success.

Head coach Horejs has no fresh injury concerns and could retain much of the side that started last week’s defeat.
