Arsenal W

Arsenal Women team overview

Arsenal return to Champions League action searching for stability after a mixed run of results in recent weeks. The Gunners have struggled to find their best form this season, scoring five wins, four draws and three defeats from 12 competitive matches.

Renee Slegers’s side have now failed to win each of their last three matches following a goalless draw against London rivals Tottenham last weekend. Over the longer period, the Gunners failed to win seven of their last ten matches.

Despite their inconsistency, Arsenal remain far stronger at Meadow Park. The Gunners have lost just one of their last six home fixtures, while they claimed a fine 2:0 win against Benfica in their most recent UCL game in London.

Still recent defensive frailties have been an issue. Stegers' side saw BTTS in three successive matches before last weekend's draw against Spurs.

Arsenal are still missing injured quartet Manuela Zinsberger, Katie Reid, Leah Williamson and skipper Kim Little. Victoria Pelova could earn a recall after missing last weekend's derby against Tottenham. Taylor Hinds and Olivia Smith are also in contention for starts after both came on at half-time last weekend.

Real Madrid W

Real Madrid Femenino team overview

Real Madrid arrive in London looking to bounce back to form after a painful 4:0 defeat against old rivals Barcelona last weekend.

In a much-better position on the European stage, Real have made a strong start to the Champions League league phase. Las Blancas sit fifth in the standings, well inside the top-12 qualification zone and still within reach of the top four, which would guarantee an automatic quarter-final place.

Pau Quesada’s side picked up seven points from their first three games, all of which saw both teams get on the scoresheet, and another entertaining encounter is expected in London.

The visitors make the trip to England unable to call on Merle Frohms, Antonia, Sandie Toletti and Signe Bruun. Sara Holmgaard is pushing for a recall to the Real Madrid defence.
