Valencia return to Mestalla after opening their LaLiga campaign with a goalless draw against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Carlos Corberan’s side struggled to create clear opportunities, but goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski produced an assured performance to secure a clean sheet and a point.

Los Che had completed their summer preparations with a 2:0 friendly victory against Hercules earlier this month. 

Valencia endured a mixed pre-season campaign, suffering defeats against Petro de Luanda, Castellon and Newcastle while also picking up victories against Eldense and Hercules.

The hosts are now winless in their last four games, with only two wins picked up in eight matches played this season (including friendlies). 

Valencia boss Corberan has several confirmed injury absentees. Jose Copete, Diego Lopez, Alberto Mari and Sergi Canos remain sidelined, while Luis Rioja is doubtful despite returning to training.

Recent arrival Pablo Maffeo could make his Valencia debut after completing a loan move from Olympiacos.

Real Betis make the trip  to Mestalla after making a winning start to their LaLiga campaign against Real Sociedad.

Rodrigo Riquelme scored the only goal as Manuel Pellegrini’s side secured a deserved 1:0 victory at La Cartuja.

The Andalusians also produced some encouraging performances during pre-season. Betis thrashed Lyon 4:0 and secured an excellent 3:1 victory against Premier League champions Arsenal before drawing 2:2 with Bournemouth.

A 1:0 defeat against Inter Milan brought their preparations to a disappointing conclusion, but Betis responded well in their hard-fought victory against San Sebastian. 

Los Verdiblancos finished fifth in LaLiga last season, securing Champions League qualification for the first time in more than 20 years.

Pellegrini has several injury issues before Tuesday’s contest. Aitor Ruibal, Ismael Barea, Diego Conde, Giovani Lo Celso, Abde Ezzalzouli and Gonzalo Petit are expected to remain unavailable.

Troy Parrott could make his debut at Mestalla after completing his transfer from AZ Alkmaar. The Irish striker scored 31 goals across all competitions for the Dutch club last season.

Fran Garcia and Facundo Bernal are in contention to make their first appearances for Betis following their summer arrivals from Real Madrid and Fluminense.
