Aalborg vs Hillerød prediction 24.07.2026 | 1st Division

After years when they have been among the Danish top few teams, Aalborg are now a team that pretty much travels between Superliga and 1st Division. Last year, they failed to return to the 1st Division immediately and weren't even close, as they finished 7th out of 12 teams. They couldn't even secure a Promotion Group and are definitely eager to change that this season. Even though they have the biggest transfer market value, the bookies do not see them as one of the main contenders, offering odds around 10 to secure promotion.

During the offseason, the team did not make too many changes. Amar Diagne, Eugene Amankwah, and Adam Andersson left the club, but neither of them has been too important a part of the rotation. On the other hand, Tibo Persyn and Uche Brian Seo Nwadike arrived. On paper they this team looks just a little bit better, but we doubt that it will have too big an impact.

After finishing 7th in three consecutive seasons, Hillerod had a really good last season, finishing 4th with 50 points from 32 rounds. They were in a position to even secure promotion, but a pretty bad end of the season eventually led them to miss it by four points. 

However, during the offseason, some important players left the club, and it will be interesting to see whether the ones who arrived can fill their roles. We believe the biggest problem at the moment is the goalkeeper position, considering their best goalkeeper, Adrian Kappenberger, left to join Brondby, and they haven't added anyone to replace him. The club only added two young ones as backups, and last season's backup keeper (Andreas Dithmer) will most likely be their first option.
