Premier League Predictions 2026/27 by MightyTips
The Premier League is the most popular national football league in the world, showcasing many of the world's best players. Each season delivers endless drama and highly unpredictable moments, and the 2026/27 campaign will provide plenty of unmissable things every weekend.
With such unpredictability and excitement, it can be tough to predict the outcome; however, MightyTips' experts have put together their Premier League predictions ahead of the forthcoming season, which gets underway at the end of August.
EPL winner prediction: Who will win the title in the 2026/27 season?
Arsenal finally ended their long wait for a Premier League title last season. However, it was obvious that the Gunners were feeling the pressure during the closing stages of the campaign. Manchester City came incredibly close to catching them, and a few different results could have completely changed the outcome of the title race. For us, that's a warning sign. Defending the Premier League crown is never easy, and we are not convinced Arsenal can repeat last season's success.
Instead, our pick to win the 2026/27 Premier League is Chelsea. It may not be the most popular prediction after last season's disappointing 10th-place finish, but the club has done almost everything right this summer. Xabi Alonso has taken charge and immediately started reshaping the squad to fit his ideas. Chelsea have strengthened several key areas, with Morgan Rogers and Marco Palestra among the headline arrivals. Alonso has already paired Palestra with Estevao during pre-season, and the two have shown promising chemistry.
The Spaniard also has plenty to prove after his difficult spell at Real Madrid. This is a fresh start, and he looks determined to remind everyone why he is considered one of Europe's brightest young coaches. Chelsea will also have one major advantage over their rivals - no European football. The Blues can put their full focus on the domestic league, making them our surprise pick to lift the trophy.
Our Premier League winner prediction: Chelsea
Premier League Top 4 prediction: who will qualify for the Champions League?
Based on our Premier League winner prediction, Chelsea are returning to the top European competition next season. We expect the Blues to qualify comfortably for the Champions League.
Arsenal and Manchester City also make our top four without much debate. Both clubs remain among the strongest in England. While it will be interesting to see how Enzo Maresca performs in his first season at City, Pep Guardiola has left him with an outstanding squad capable of competing for every trophy.
Our fourth Champions League pick is Manchester United. Ever since Michael Carrick took charge, the team's performances have improved dramatically. United finished last season in excellent form and look ready to build on that momentum. Squad depth could become an issue with Champions League football returning, but we don't expect them to make a deep run in Europe this year. That could actually work in their favour, allowing Carrick to focus on securing another top-four finish in the Premier League.
Top 4 prediction: Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Man United
Premier League relegation prediction 2026/27
Our relegation picks include two of the three promoted sides. Coventry City look like the only newcomers with a realistic chance of staying in the Premier League. Hull City could struggle from the very beginning. They finished sixth in the Championship to claim the final promotion play-off spot, and they were far from convincing throughout the season.
Ipswich Town are another team we expect to go down. They were active during the summer transfer window and brought in a few new players, but we still don't believe their squad is strong enough for the Premier League. It may take time for the new signings to settle, and those dropped points early in the season could prove costly.
Our third relegation pick is Fulham. The Cottagers lost both their best player, Harry Wilson, and long-serving manager Marco Silva, who had been in charge since 2021. Alvaro Arbeloa has replaced Silva, but he is still inexperienced at this level. His brief spell at Real Madrid did little to convince us that he is ready for such a difficult challenge.
Bottom three teams prediction: Fulham, Ipswich Town, Hull City
Premier League top goalscorer prediction
If we're being realistic, Erling Haaland is the only sensible pick to win the Premier League Golden Boot. The Norwegian scored 27 league goals last season and followed that up with a phenomenal World Cup campaign. He found the net seven times in just five matches, and made it look effortless. As long as he stays fit, it's hard to see anyone matching him.
Igor Thiago came closest to challenging Haaland for the Golden Boot last season, but we don't expect him to close the gap this time around. The Brazilian had a disappointing World Cup. He started the first game, played poorly, got benched, and never returned to the pitch.
Top goalscorer prediction: Erling Haaland.
English Premier League format: how it works
The Premier League season gets underway in mid-August and concludes at the end of May. Twenty teams compete in the top flight, and each side will face another twice across the course of the campaign, once at home and once away, for a total of 38 matchdays.
Most matchdays take place at the weekend with games typically divided between Saturday, Sunday and Monday, although the league does occasionally host a Friday night fixture. There are five midweek matchdays scheduled throughout the season, with the first set taking place in early December. The Premier League scrapped their winter break, and fixtures will take place across the festive period.
- The team that finishes with the most points will be crowned the winners, with the sides occupying 2nd, 3rd and 4th spot qualifying for the UEFA Champions League as well.
- The 5th-place finishers will enter the Europa League along with the FA Cup winners.
- The 6th-place and potentially 7th-place finishers (depending on the winners of the FA Cup and EFL Cup) will compete in the Europa Conference League the following season.
At the other end of the table, the bottom three sides will be relegated to the Championship. If two sides finish on the same number of points, positions will be determined by goal difference. If this isn't possible, it will revert to goals scored followed by the head-to-head record of the two teams during the regular season.
What type of Premier League tips do we offer?
Betting sites now offer more Premier League markets than ever before, so our football betting tips cover a vast range of betting options. Our experts will explore numerous markets before settling on their eventual picks.
1X2 (Win/Draw/Win)
This is the simplest of all the markets that involves predicting the result of the match. There are three possible outcomes here: home win, draw or away win. You will get far better prices if you back the game to end in a draw, with home teams often priced up shorter due to the perceived ‘home advantage’.
Also known as the moneyline, this is the most straightforward option and tends to be popular when it comes to assembling accumulators.
BTTS
This is another popular market, and our team always enjoys finding Premier League BTTS predictions each weekend. With the number of top-flight goals having increased over the last few seasons, the both teams to score odds have significantly decreased. However, MightyTips’ experts dig deep to uncover the value in this market, analysing head-to-heads, recent form and key team news to make their selections.
Over 2.5 Goals / Over 3.5 Goals
Another popular option is the over 2.5 goals market. Premier League matches averaged 2.75 goals during the 2025/26 season, which encouraged our experts to increase the threshold to over 3.5 goals on several occasions. This market is an excellent way to wager if you're hoping for a thoroughly entertaining high-scoring contest, whilst it's also ideal if you’re struggling to predict the outcome on the 1X2 market.
Correct Score
Although this market doesn’t tend to be quite as popular due to the sheer number of potential outcomes, it can be a highly lucrative option for bettors to explore, with the potential for high returns and generous odds. Our experts may target potentially low-scoring games, covering the 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 or 1-1 markets, or plump for something a little more exotic such as a 2-2, which landed in over 5% of all Premier League games during the 2025/26 season.
Premier League Accumulators
Accumulators are always popular with Premier League fans, with the potential to return significant sums for a small outlay. Our experts enjoy putting together accumulator bets and will find the best value options for your multiple bet. Premier League accumulators may focus on one single day (Saturday or Sunday) or may potentially cover the entire matchday, ensuring that only the best selections are included.
Here at MightyTips, our Premier League accumulators tend to cover an array of different markets; however, they have been meticulously devised by our team.
Premier League Predictions for the Weekend
There are always plenty of thrills and spills when it comes to the Premier League, and anticipation is understandably high ahead of each round of fixtures. Most matches take place on either Saturday or Sunday, and here at MightyTips, we want to ensure that our readers have enough time to place their bets ahead of each set of matches.
Our Premier League weekend predictions will be released on Mondays at 12:00 GMT with our experts quickly dissecting the previous set of results to bring you an EPL matchday prediction for each of the scheduled fixtures.
How to make reliable predictions for Premier League matches?
There are many considerations that need to be made when making an EPL match prediction. Analysing the odds and calculating the reasons for the bookmaker's pricing is the first thing to do. Ask yourself whether you'd back the favourites at such a short price, or try to find the reason why the betting sites are struggling to split the two teams.
Here are a few other things that need to be factored into making reliable English Premier League predictions:
- Motivation - Teams rarely give anything less than 100%. However, some managers will prioritise other competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League or FA Cup over a weekend Premier League contest. Aston Villa were a perfect example of this last season. While they were struggling in the Premier League and went through a losing streak, they continued to deliver impressive performances in the Europa League. Unai Emery clearly prioritised the European campaign, and the gamble paid off as Villa went on to lift the trophy.
- Team news / Injuries - This needs to be factored into your Premier League match prediction as a hastily reshuffled line-up can have a significant bearing on the outcome of games. Look out for key players being injured or suspended. We aren't just talking about standout performers, but midfielders or defenders who are integral to how a team sets up and keep things ticking over. Is there anyone who can step up in their absence? How did they perform last time this player was missing?
- New manager bonus - A change of manager can result in a sudden upturn in results. Never underestimate the impact that a different voice can have on the players.
- Rivalries / Revenge - Many things can get players fired up; however, some teams are far better when they have added motivation to succeed. If a team won via a dodgy VAR decision in the previous meeting or a team is facing their former manager, there is always an extra edge to these games, and the formbook may be thrown out of the window.
