Toulouse team overview

Toulouse return to home soil after picking-up a 2:2 draw against Brest at Stade Francis-Le Blé on Saturday.

Jacen Russell-Rowe fired Jens Askou’s men into a ninth-minute lead before Kamory Doumbia quickly restored parity. Christ Tapé scored the visitors’ second goal, but Ludovic Ajorque’s goal ensured a share of the spoils.

The hosts had slipped to a 2:0 home defeat against Lyon in their first fixture of the new Ligue 1 season and comes into this fixture still searching fo their first win of the season.

Askou’s side have now conceded four times across their opening two fixtures and have failed to win their last four matches including two pre-season friendlies.

Head coach Askou has no reported injury issues this week. Russell-Rowe should retain his place at the spearhead of the attack after scoring at Brest.

Julián Vignolo and Thomas Jørgensen are expected to provide attacking support for the Canadian forward in the final third.

Lille

Lille team overview

Lille travel south after conceding two stoppage-time goals in a dramatic 2:2 draw against champions Paris Saint-Germain on Friday.

Hákon Arnar Haraldsson opened the scoring before Dilane Bakwa doubled the advantage in the 84th minute. A second successive victory appeared to be on cards for Davide Ancelotti’s side, but Vitinha pulled one back in the first minute of added time before Marquinhos completed an unlikely comeback for the Ligue 1 champions with a 95th-minute header.

Despite that late collapse, Ancelotti’s men have made an encouraging start to the new campaign.

Les Dogues began the season with a deserved 2:0 victory at Angers. Goals from Olivier Giroud and Tiago Santos ensured a winning start for Ancelotti in his first competitive fixture in the Lille hotseat.

Four points and four goals from two fixtures leave Lille third in the Ligue 1 standings.

On the road, Lille have been impressive in 2026, securing victories in each of their last six away Ligue 1 fixtures, including their dominant win at this venue last April.

Head coach Ancelotti is unlikely to make significant alterations after seeing his team come within seconds of beating PSG.

Veteran forward Giroud should continue as the central striker, with Haraldsson, Bakwa and Ethan Mbappé also expected to feature for the visitors.

Tanguy Nianzou and Hamza Igamane are set to remain sidelined through injury while Matías Fernández-Pardo is no longer available after completing a big money transfer to Newcastle.
