The historical record between these sides in the EFL Championship is limited, as the two teams have spent most of their time in different divisions, making direct encounters relatively infrequent. However, the recent head-to-head meetings have favoured Charlton, who won once at home and drew 1-1 away from home last February.
West Bromwich team overview
James Morrison's West Brom have collected six points from their opening three Championship matches, beating Norwich City 2-1 away and Burnley 3-1 at home before losing 3-1 at Middlesbrough.
The Baggies were also involved in an entertaining Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle United, eventually losing 3-2 despite twice taking the lead through Isaac Price.
New signing Jimmy-Jay Morgan has made an immediate impact, registering four goal contributions in his first three league appearances, and he is expected to lead the attack again. Jayson Molumby and Ousmane Diakite are likely to operate in midfield, while recently signed Toby Collyer could be included in the matchday squad after his arrival.

Charlton team overview
Charlton have arguably been the Championship's early-season surprise package. They opened their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Derby County, followed by another 2-1 win away at West Ham United, before beating Preston North End 1-0 on Saturday. Their perfect nine-point return has been built on an impressive balance between attack and defence, with five goals scored and only two conceded.
Karlan Grant scored the decisive goal against Preston, but Nathan Jones admitted afterwards that his team could still improve their attacking cutting edge.
There are potential injury concerns, however. Nathaniel Chalobah and Miles Leaburn were both forced off during the Preston victory, meaning Alan Mwamba and Micah Mbick could come into contention as replacements.
Charlton's only competitive defeat this season came in the Carabao Cup, where a heavily changed side lost 5-1 to the established Premier League outfit, Tottenham.

Prediction
Charlton should remain competitive and extend their unbeaten start, but West Brom's home advantage and encouraging attacking performances make a draw the most likely outcome.
Prediction: Charlton Win or Draw (Double chance X2).
Three reasons we expect Double chance X2
- Charlton are top of the Championship table with three wins out of three.
- Charlton remained unbeaten across the two head-to-head fixtures with West Brom last season.
- After a positive start to the season, West Brom's form has deteriorated, with the Baggies losing back-to-back fixtures in the EFL Cup and the Championship.
