AGF vs FC Midtjylland prediction 02.09.2026 | Danish Superliga

AGF's Superliga campaign has been characterised by draws and narrow margins. Their latest league fixture finished 2-2 against OB, following a 2-1 defeat at Viborg and earlier draws against Lyngby and Brondby. 

Their broader recent form has also been affected by European disappointment. AGF lost 3-1 away to Benfica and suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Sabah, although they had previously beaten the Azerbaijani side 2-1 at home. The inconsistency of their defensive performances is therefore likely to concern the coaching staff ahead of facing one of Denmark's strongest attacking teams. 

AGF have several fitness concerns. Frederik Tingager is currently listed with a foot injury, while Kevin Yakob and Nicolai Poulsen are also unavailable or doubtful. These absences could reduce AGF's options, particularly in the defensive and midfield areas.

Midtjylland have started the season much more convincingly. Their four Superliga matches have produced three victories and one draw, with recent results including a 1-0 win over Randers and 1-1 draws with Lyngby and Silkeborg. They have also demonstrated their quality in Europe, beating Rijeka 2-0 at home and 4-1 away. 

The visitors are not without selection problems. Ousmane Diao remains sidelined, while Victor Bak Jensen and Mikel Gogorza have also been listed among the unavailable players. Júnior Brumado has additionally been dealing with a knee problem. Additionally, Julius Emefile will serve at least a one-match suspension following his sending-off against Silkeborg.
