Last season, these teams met twice, with Tottenham winning both games 1:0 at home and 3:0 on the road. Over their past ten h2h games, the Spurs were much more successful, winning six times, while Everton only secured one win. Moreover, Tottenham have won the past five h2h games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Regarding the number of goals, six out of ten h2h games ended with three or more goals. Meanwhile, both teams scored on four occasions.
Tottenham team overview
Tottenham have been a major talking point early in the season. They spent a lot of money in the offseason, with high expectations and zero goals in their first three Premier League games. After getting mauled by Brentford and losing to Newcastle, they won their first point in the last game against Nottingham. However, it was a controversial point after referees disallowed Neco Williams' goal. The overall start has been a disaster, and the Spurs and De Zerbi are under high pressure to grab their first win. Most football pundits attribute their terrible start to a lack of a No. 10, which eventually led to very few goal-scoring chances. As of now, Tottenham have the 18th-lowest xG, and we do not think that will suddenly change.
Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, and Xavi Simons will all miss the game with long-term injuries. Meanwhile, James Maddison is questionable with a shoulder injury. According to credible sources, he started training with the team and could record a few minutes against Everton.

Everton team overview
Unlike Tottenham, Everton had a very good start to the season. The Toffees collected five points in the first Premier League game and are sitting in 8th spot. They opened the season with a very good 2:0 win over Crystal Palace, but then were lucky to grab a point against Bournemouth and Manchester United, scoring equalizers in stoppage time. Even though they had a bit of luck to grab points in those two games, we can safely say they earned those points and are deservedly unbeaten thus far.
Midfielder James Garner had to leave the field against Manchester United in the 77th minute due to severe cramps. However, according to credible sources, he should be ready for the upcoming match. On the other hand, Christian Norgaard should remain sidelined with his injury.

Prediction
Tottenham were atrocious this season, failing to win any of their three Premier League ties. They are yet to score, and we cannot really say we are optimistic that will come easily.
On the other hand, Everton are still without a loss this season. Draws against Manchester United and Bournemouth and a win over Crystal Palace are more than enough to convince us that they can remain undefeated against struggling Spurs.
Simply, Tottenham are in a very bad spot, and given what we have seen from these teams, an Everton win or a draw looks like the most likely outcome for this Premier League tie.
3 Reasons why Everton should win or draw
- Tottenham are winless in the first three Premier League games
- Tottenham haven't scored in the first three league games
- Everton are undefeated this season
