Sunday could become one of the strangest afternoons modern Spurs supporters have experienced. A defeat will see the club relegated to the Championship if the Hammers pick up maximum points elsewhere. Roberto De Zerbi has not hidden from that reality either. The Italian openly admitted survival matters more than silverware right now, which probably sounds dramatic until you look at the table. Everton, meanwhile, arrive far calmer. The Toffees are safe already, although a slim path toward Europe still exists if several other results somehow fall perfectly into place.

These sides have met 11 times since 2021 and Spurs hold the stronger record overall. The Lilywhites won five meetings, including three of the last four. Everton managed only one victory, while four matches ended level. Goals usually arrive in this fixture too, with the average sitting at an entertaining 3.64 per game.
Tottenham Hotspur team overview
Not long ago, Spurs looked completely stuck. Relegation was starting to feel less like a possibility and more like the obvious ending. Around North London, confidence had drained away.
You could sense it in the crowd after home matches, that flat silence that usually says more than the boos. De Zerbi has at least changed part of that mood. Maybe not entirely, because the problems are still there, but two wins and two draws from six matches kept the Lilywhites alive.
The 2-1 defeat at Chelsea probably frustrated supporters more than the score itself. Spurs were competitive for much of the night before losing control late on again.
Their home record is still difficult to understand. Just 12 points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium feels incredibly poor for a squad with this much technical quality.
Maddison is expected to ease back slowly from the bench, while injuries continue to hurt the balance of the side. Kulusevski, Kudus, Ben Davies, Odobert, Romero and Xavi Simons all remain unavailable. That is a heavy list for any manager to carry.

Everton team overview
The Toffees have probably delivered a season that feels decent rather than memorable. Finishing around mid-table may not excite supporters, yet there were periods where David Moyes’ side looked genuinely difficult to play against.
Between January and late March, Everton lost only twice in 10 matches and briefly pushed themselves into the conversation for a top-half finish.
Consistency disappeared after that strong run. The Merseyside club managed only one victory in the last eight matches, although there were still impressive moments mixed in there. A 3-0 win over Chelsea and a chaotic 3-3 draw with Manchester City showed the Toffees can still trouble stronger opponents.
The concern heading into this trip is away form. Everton are winless in four road matches and conceded regularly during that stretch. Beto should continue leading the line after another productive Premier League campaign, while Thierno Barry offers support after scoring eight league goals himself.
Jack Grealish remains unavailable following foot surgery, and Jarrad Branthwaite is also expected to miss out with a hamstring injury.

Prediction
Spurs could just about stumble over the line with a nervy 2-1 win in North London. The Lilywhites only need a draw to stay up, although that kind of pressure can sometimes wake a side up rather than crush it. Everton, honestly, do not travel well right now. The Toffees are without an away win in four and have shipped at least two goals in each of their last six matches. De Zerbi’s men, despite a growing injury list, still found the net in five of the previous six league games.
Four reasons we expect over 2.5 goals
- Spurs finished only one of their last 16 games without conceding.
- Everton conceded at least two goals in each of their last six matches.
- Bets on over 2.5 goals won in each of the last seven games of Everton.
- Each of the last five meetings between Spurs and Everton produced 3+ goals.
