Strasbourg team overview

Strasbourg return to Stade de la Meinau after slipping to a 2:1 away defeat against Nice on Sunday.

Dario Essugo gave Hugo Oliveira's side the lead, but a Pape Demba Diop own goal levelled the contest before Jonathan Clauss scored a late winner for OGC.

Racing Club have now gone three league matches without a victory, including successive 2:1 away defeats against Paris FC and Nice.

A mixed start to their season has seen Strasbourg collect only seven points from six league fixtures.

Despite their indifferent form, Oliveira's men remain unbeaten at Stade de la Meinau this season after beating Lens 2:1 and drawing 1:1 with Monaco. However, they have yet to keep a clean sheet in their first six Ligue 1 fixtures.

Head coach Oliveira has several players missing this weekend. Sebastian Nanasi, Ismael Doukoure, Maxi Oyedele, Martial Godo and Joaquin Panichelli are expected to remain unavailable with various injury issues.

Conrad Harder should continue to lead the Strasbourg attack this weekend.

PSG

PSG team overview

PSG make the trip to Alsace after a magnificent 4:2 Champions League victory against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele scored in quick succession before Vitinha added a third in a blistering first-half performance from the European champions.

Erling Haaland struck twice for City after the break but Maghnes Akliouche added a fourth as PSG completed a memorable road victory.

Luis Enrique's side have now won five successive matches across all competitions. The French champions scored 16 goals in those victories while keeping just one clean sheet.

After a slow start to the season, the Parisiens have picked up the pace in recent weeks. PSG failed to win four of five matches in August and September before their current five-game winning stretch.

Enrique could make some changes to his first XI on Saturday. Matvey Safonov, Mika Godts, Ferran Torres and Maghnes Akliouche are among those in contention to earn first-team recalls.

Senny Mayulu remains sidelined with a thigh injury and is the visitors' only confirmed absentee.

Prediction

PSG produced their best performance of the season at Manchester City and should take plenty of confidence from Wednesday's victory.

Recent results and past encounters between these sides also point heavily to a high-scoring away win this weekend.

PSG to win and over 2.5 goals is my best bet on Saturday.

Four Reasons Why We Expect PSG to Win and Over 2.5 Goals

  1. PSG won their last 5 matches
  2. PSG have seen over 2.5 goals in 11 of their last 12 matches against Strasbourg
  3. PSG won 8 of their last 12 matches against Strasbourg
  4. Strasbourg have seen over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches
