Burnley and Wolves have met on nine occasions in competitive fixtures since 2020. Burnley won four games, while Wolves claimed two victories. Three matches finished level.

Wolves picked up a 1:1 draw in their last visit to Turf Moor in May.

Burnley are unbeaten in seven of the previous nine meetings, while both teams scored in each of last season's two encounters.

Burnley team overview

Burnley come into Friday’s Championship clash after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in Tuesday's dramatic 2:2 draw against Charlton Athletic.

Jacob Bruun Larsen opened the scoring before Kayne Ramsay levelled the contest after half-time. Largie Ramazani restored Burnley’s advantage but Ivan Mesik struck with virtually the final kick to rescue a point for Charlton.

Tuesday’s draw extended Burnley's unbeaten run to two matches following Saturday's emphatic 4:0 victory at Watford.

Defensive concerns remain, with the Clarets failing to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last ten matches. Their shutout at Watford was Burnley's only Championship clean sheet this season.

Those issues at the back have made Nicky Hayen's side a good choice for goal chasers. BTTS landed in all but one of their ten Championship fixtures.

Head coach Hayen has several absentees this weekend. Josh Cullen and Hannibal are definite absentees while Jaydon Banel, Bashir Humphreys, Ashley Barnes and Jordan Beyer are also expected to miss out.

Zeki Amdouni faces a fitness test after missing Tuesday's draw through injury. Veteran forward Jamie Vardy could drop to the bench after an ineffectual display against Charlton.

Wolves team overview

Wolves make the short trip to Lancashire after a disappointing 3:1 home defeat against Bolton on Tuesday.

Goals from Atsuki Ito, Sam Dalby and Josh Sheehan secured a shock road win for the Trotters.

Cesar Peixoto's side registered 18 attempts and an xG of 2.21, but were unable to take their chances in an entertaining encounter at Molineux.

Tuesday's setback came only three days after a 1:0 reversal at Middlesbrough. Wolves have now failed to win four of their last six league fixtures, while they suffered defeats in three of their four most recent matches.

Like the home side, Wolves have struggled to keep clean sheets in recent weeks. The visitors conceded at least one goal in six of their last eight games, while three of their last five road fixtures finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Head coach Peixoto has some injury issues to deal with this week.

Raul Jimenez, Boubacar Traore and Bertrand Traore are ruled out, while Rodrigo Gomes is doubtful after picking up an injury at Middlesbrough.

Marshall Munetsi, Tommy Doyle and Toti Gomes are among those pushing for recalls after starting on the bench against Bolton.

Prediction

Both teams have struggled to keep clean sheets in recent weeks, and I expect a continuation of that pattern at Turf Moor.

BTTS is my best bet on Friday.

Three Reasons Why We Expect BTTS

  1. Burnley have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 10 matches (Championship)
  2. Wolves have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 5 away matches
  3. Wolves have seen BTTS in their last 3 matches against Burnley (league matches)
