Remo enter the game after a difficult run of form. The Azulino have lost their last five Série A matches, including a 2-1 home defeat to Santos before a three-week long international break. 

Their home record is somewhat better, although still modest at three wins, five draws and six defeats. The long 19-day break since the Santos defeat has provided new coach Thiago Carpini with additional preparation time ahead of a decisive final stretch.

There is positive news regarding Jajá, the club's leading Série A scorer with seven goals. He has recovered from an ankle injury and trained normally, while left-back Mayk has also returned to training following a calf problem. 

Zé Ivaldo and Patrick are available again after missing the Santos game due to contractual restrictions. However, Zé Welison and Poveda are suspended, while Defender Matheus Felipe is also unavailable with a serious thigh injury.

Grêmio's overall numbers are marginally better, but their away form is extremely concerning. At home they have taken 25 points; however, they remain winless away from home, recording four draws and 10 defeats. 

Their last away victory against a Série A opponent came in September 2025, when they beat Internacional 3-2 in the Gre-Nal, accumulating for more than 365 days without an away win.

Renato Gaúcho has recently returned for his fifth spell in charge and has taken one point from his first two matches, following a 3-2 defeat to Botafogo and the draw with Palmeiras.

Grêmio will be without suspended defender Gustavo Martins and midfielder Erick Noriega. Jovane Cabral is another confirmed absentee after suffering a grade-two thigh injury while on international duty with Cape Verde. He had made nine appearances since joining the club, contributing one goal and one assist.
