La Liga
Real Madrid have historically dominated this fixture. The recent record is particularly favourable to Los Blancos: Madrid won both league meetings last season, including a 2-0 away victory in January and a 3-1 home success in October 2025.
Villarreal's most recent victory at the Bernabéu came in April 2023, when they produced a 3-2 comeback win. However, Real Madrid have subsequently won their last three home meetings with the Yellow Submarine.
Real Madrid team overview
Mourinho's men have made a strong attacking start to the campaign, scoring 18 goals in seven league games - an average of 2.6 goals per match. They have also won all three of their home league fixtures, defeating Real Sociedad, Málaga and Rayo Vallecano, collecting nine points and scoring freely at the Bernabéu.
However, Madrid enter this fixture after a 2-1 defeat away to Atlético Madrid, their second league loss of the campaign. They are also dealing with defensive absences. Dean Huijsen is suspended after picking up a red card in the Madrid derby, while Raúl Asencio recently underwent surgery for a stress fracture in his right shin and is expected to be unavailable for several months.
There is better news regarding Ibrahima Konaté, who has returned to full training and is expected to be available despite his recent knee problem. Eder Militão has also resumed training, although his return to competitive action is expected to be more gradual.
Kylian Mbappé is another important fitness consideration. The Frenchman suffered a minor knee injury during the international break but has returned to Madrid and resumed individual training. He remains expected to recover in time for Villarreal.

Villarreal team overview
Villarreal have recovered from a difficult start, winning their last two league matches against Málaga and Levante by identical 3-1 scorelines. Those victories followed three consecutive defeats, meaning Iñigo Pérez's team have now collected six points from their last two matches.
Villarreal should also welcome back several players. Juan Foyth is training normally, while Santi Comesaña has returned to group training following an ankle injury. Tajon Buchanan, however, returned from international duty with hamstring discomfort and is a doubt.

Prediction
Madrid should have enough attacking quality to secure a fourth consecutive home league victory, while Villarreal's recent scoring form makes Both Teams to Score a realistic secondary selection. Still, Madrid’s relentless attacking dominance at the Bernabéu could see them flourish and potentially secure a victory by more than a single goal.
Prediction: Real Madrid Asian Handicap (-1.5).
Three reasons we expect Real Madrid Asian Handicap (-1.5)
- All three of Madrid’s home victories in La Liga have come by at least a three-goal margin.
- Villarreal’s only away win this season came against bottom-of-the-table Málaga.
- Madrid’s last three home wins against Villarreal have all been by more than a single goal.
