Qarabag vs Chelsea prediction 05.11.2025 | Champions League

Qarabag have been absolutely dominant in Azerbaijan, winning the last four and 11 out of the last 12 league titles. However, in the Champions League, they haven't had much success as they struggled to even secure the main (League) phase, let alone the knockout phase. This year, the Blue and Whites opened the competition really well, beating Benfica and FC Copenhagen and losing to Athletic Bilbao. When it comes to the domestic league, Qarabag are doing well as well, as they are in second place with 20 points from nine matches. Right now, they are one point away from the first-placed Turan Tovuz, but with fewer games played. 

After a 2:0 win over Imisli FK, coach Qurban Qurbanov spoke to the media. He said it was not an easy win by any means. The coach also said it was hard to motivate players because the pitch was very rough, and questioned whether it would be better against Chelsea. 

Chelsea had a disastrous 2022/23 season when they finished 12th, but are slowly recovering. Last year, they finished fourth in the Premier League and secured the Conference League as well. This year, after some ups and downs, the Blues are playing well as they have managed to win six out of the last seven games across the competitions. In the PL, they are in sixth place with 17 points - one point away from the Champions League spots.

The players who missed the previous game(s) will remain sidelined - Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Dario Essugo, Cole Palmer, while Mykhailo Mudryk will remain sidelined due to a doping ban. On the positive note, Joao Pedro served his one-game suspension in the previous CL game against Ajax and will be available.
