Things have gone a little flat for the Red and Whites lately. No wins in three games, and the mood around Montilivi feels uneasy. Míchel’s side lost 2-1 to Valencia last weekend, and it was not just the defeat, it was how open they looked at the back.

Five goals conceded in two matches tells its own story and across the last 13 games, only two clean sheets. Still, there is a small comfort. Six of Girona’s nine wins this season came at home. Montilivi has been, if not a fortress, then at least a place where things make more sense.

Injuries are not helping, though. Juan Carlos remains out with that long-term knee problem, and this match comes too soon. Donny van de Beek, Portu, Marc-André ter Stegen, and Vladyslav Vanat are also unavailable.

Mallorca’s recent form is a bit confusing. Not long ago, Los Piratas were beating Real Madrid 2-1 and brushing aside Rayo Vallecano 3-0. That feels like a different team now. Two games without a win followed, including a 2-1 loss to Alavés, and the momentum has faded.

Martín Demichelis’ side have also struggled badly away from home. Eleven La Liga away games without a win is hard to ignore, especially with eight defeats in that run. Even more telling, they failed to score in five of those matches.

There are still positives. Vedat Muriqi has been excellent, 21 goals in 32 games, and he remains the focal point up front. However, injuries could stretch the squad.

Antonio Raíllo, Zito Luvumbo, Jan Salas, and Mateo Joseph are all sidelined. That does not leave much room for rotation, which could matter late in the game.
