EPL action takes place in London on Sunday afternoon as Fulham hosts Manchester United.

Fulham claimed their first win under Alvaro Arbeloa with a five-goal cup success at West Ham, while Manchester United suffered a disappointing home defeat against Brighton at Old Trafford.

Both sides have been involved in plenty of high-scoring contests this season, and another entertaining encounter is expected at Craven Cottage.

Fulham

Fulham team overview

Fulham return to Craven Cottage after securing a morale-boosting 3:2 Carabao Cup victory against West Ham on Tuesday.

Rodrigo Muniz and Cesar Palacios twice put the Cottagers ahead before Oscar Bobb scored his first Fulham goal to send Alvaro Arbeloa's side into the fourth round.

Tuesday’s victory came on the back of a hard-fought goalless draw against Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

Despite a positive week, defensive issues remain a concern. Fulham conceded twice at West Ham after leaking three goals in their previous home game against Crystal Palace.

High-scoring outcomes have been frequent, particularly in London. Four of the hosts six games this season have seen at least three goals scored, including all three home fixtures.

Head coach Arbeloa has a strong squad available this weekend. Ryan Sessegnon remains doubtful, but Fulham reported no fresh injury concerns following Tuesday's cup tie.

Bobb, Palacios and Muniz all strengthened their claims for a starting place, but Arbeloa is expected to restore most of the side that performed so well at Anfield.

Former Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia is set to lead the attack.

Manchester United

Manchester United team overview

Manchester United travel to London after throwing away a two-goal advantage in Wednesday's disastrous 3:2 Carabao Cup defeat against Brighton.

Shea Lacey marked his first senior start with a debut goal before Mason Mount doubled United's advantage shortly after half-time.

Michael Carrick's side then suffered a remarkable second-half collapse. Charalampos Kostoulas reduced the deficit before Pascal Gross and Maxim De Cuyper completed Brighton's superb comeback.

The result leaves United winless  in three matches and comes on the back of Sunday's controversial 1:0 derby defeat against ten-man Manchester City.

Carrick's men have collected only four points from their opening four league fixtures, their worst league start since 1992.

Like Fulham, high-scoring outcomes have been frequent. At least three goals were scored in five of United’s last six games. The visitors conceded two goals or more in four of five domestic fixtures this season.

The Red Devils are expected to make several changes to the side that folded  against Brighton. Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire are expected to come back into the first XI.

Carlos Baleba remains unavailable, while Luke Shaw, Amad and Matthijs de Ligt require late fitness checks.

Prediction

Fulham should take confidence from their cup victory, while Manchester United need a response after a damaging home defeat against Brighton.

A high-scoring contest seems likely, so I have my full stake on over 2.5 goals. A BTTS and over 2.5 goals double also holds plenty of appeal.

Three Reasons Why We Expect Over 2.5 Goals

  1. Fulham have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 3 home matches
  2. Manchester United have seen over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches
  3. Manchester United have seen over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 15 matches against Fulham
