Estoril vs Arouca prediction 07.09.2026 | Liga Portugal

Estoril recorded another mid-table finish last season and entered the 2026/27 campaign expecting a similar outcome. However, their start has been disappointing, with just one point collected from the opening four matches. In the previous game, Estoril lost 2-1 on the road against Benfica. Although the final result seems pretty close, the hosts finished with 66% possession and 21 shots on goal, and it would feel pretty unfair if Estoril managed to pick up one point. Now, Vasco Matos' team will meet Arouca in the match, in which they urgently need a victory. 

The biggest problem for Estoril this season is their poor attacking line. They scored only two goals in four matches and will have to do much better. 

Since their last match, Estoril signed four players. The most significant addition is probably Nail Omerovic, who came from Osijek. Estoril also brought in his former teammate Roko Jurisic, while Milan Robin and Axel Camblan joined from Le Mans and Brest, respectively.

Estoril have an almost full squad for Monday's game, with Xavi Sintes the only one missing. 

Last season was one of the best for Arouca in the 21st century. They finished eighth in Liga Portugal and are hoping for a similar 2026/27 campaign. The first four rounds are encouraging, as Arouca collected nine points in four matches. In the most recent outing, Vasco Seabra's team won 2-1 at home against Maritimo. The hosts finished the match with a significantly higher xG and deservedly secured another valuable victory. 

The reason for Arouca's early success this season is their outstanding defense. They conceded only three goals so far, while two of them came against Portuguese powerhouse Porto. 

Arouca were active in the transfer window in recent days, too. It is an interesting addition of right-back Leo Shahar, who came on loan from Newcastle. Also, Gabriel Rukavina joined Arouca from Rijeka. 

Puche should be the only one unavailable for the game in Estoril.
