Arsenal vs Chelsea prediction 06.09.2026 | Premier League

Arsenal opened the season absolutely great, dominating Manchester City 3:0 in the Community Shield and then going on to win the next two PL games against Coventry and Aston Villa. While the season is still early, the Gunners seem like the best team in the country and are deservedly the favorites to repeat, according to the bookies. Some football pundits suggested they needed to go for a world-class striker, and, to be fair, they tried but couldn't finalize the deal. For now, Kai Havertz is their primary striker, with Viktor Gyökeres being glued to the bench, as he is yet to play a single minute in the PL. 

The Gunners are yet to concede a goal this season, but an in-form Chelsea will be their biggest challenge, no doubt. Even though Arsenal is doing a magnificent job defensively, they are facing some injury problems. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber are out with long-term injuries, and Cristhian Mosquera also suffered an injury in the previous game against Aston Villa. He is doubtful for the upcoming match, with Ezri Konsa possibly starting in his place. 

Chelsea suffered major changes over the summer, and it seems they have done a great job. The team looks super exciting under coach Xabi Alonso, and the offensive trio Palmer - Joao Pedro - Rogers seems unstoppable, especially in transition. Besides winning both PL games against Fulham and Brighton, they also won 2:0 against Luton in the EFL Cup. 

However, the impression is that the Blues still need to improve on the defensive end, as the teams easily find ways to score against them. One of the team's weak links was goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez, who Emiliano Martinez replaced. Generally, the Blues are looking good, and at least a top-four finish seems like a bare minimum, especially considering they have no European competition to distract them.

In the previous game against Brighton, Moises Caicedo had to leave the field due to injury after only 14 minutes on the field. He is a doubt for the upcoming match, while Jordan Henderson and Marco Palestra should be sidelined with injuries.
