Coventry have endured a difficult return to the top flight, losing 3-0 to Arsenal, 1-0 to Hull City and 1-0 to Manchester City. They have therefore scored no goals in three league games and will have to find ways to improve their finishing if they want to get anything out of this game.

However, the underlying performances have not been entirely negative. Coventry dominated possession against Hull with 69% and were competitive against Manchester City despite having only 22% of the ball. They created opportunities late at the Etihad and could easily have snatched an equaliser, with City's Gianluigi Donnarumma required to make several saves. 

Lampard will be hoping that home advantage can finally translate into points. Coventry had one of the strongest home records in the Championship last season, making this a potentially more favourable fixture than their opening three matches. 

Injury-wise, Luke Woolfenden, Kane Kesler-Hayden and Haji Wright are unavailable, while Ephron Mason-Clark and others remain potential selection considerations.

Brighton have made a promising attacking start, beating Aston Villa 4-0, losing 4-3 at Chelsea and drawing 1-1 with Leeds. 

Fabian Hürzeler's team dominated possession against Leeds with 67% and produced 17 second-half shots, eventually equalising through Luka Vušković. The problem has been consistency, as they allowed Leeds to create several excellent opportunities before recovering after the interval. 

Brighton remain significantly weakened by injuries. Kaoru Mitoma, Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer, Jack Hinshelwood and Evan Ferguson are among those sidelined, while Georginio Rutter remains a fitness doubt.
