In recent seasons, Cercle Brugge have had some really good performances, such as the one in the 2023/24 season, when they finished 5th. This year, the Green and Black weren't great throughout the season and deservedly ended up in the relegation group. However, after a coaching change and ending up in the relegation group, they proved they are on a much higher level than the league's worst teams. At the moment, they are in 14th place with 41 points - 19 points away from the danger zone.

After a 2:1 win over Dender, coach Lars Friis spoke to the media. He was pleased with the result and the team's mentality. The coach emphasized they must not relax despite improving results lately. Friis added that they must continue winning and prepare for the next season. 

Waregem secured promotion to the Jupiler Pro League last season by winning the Challenger Pro League. This year, after a pretty good start in the regular phase, it seemed they would at least secure the Conference League Group. Unfortunately, they had a terrible second half of the regular season and ended up in the Relegation Group. However, just as Cercle Brugge did, Waregem changed its head coach in late March and had an excellent stint under Steve Colpaert. With two rounds to go, they are in 1st place in the group with 42 points - 20 points away from the relegation zone and one point away from the 2nd-best team in the group, Cercle Brugge. 

After a 4:0 win over RAAL La Louviere, coach Steve Colpaert spoke to the media. He was very satisfied with the discipline and the professional approach to the match. The coach pointed out that they controlled the game from the start and kept pushing despite already having a comfortable lead.
