However, this season the popular Rovers are really struggling, as they sit in 18th place with 20 points from 17 rounds - three points away from the relegation zone. However, they played one game fewer than the rest of the league, and it is crucial to win this match to create a gap between them and the danger zone.

Taylor Gardner-Hickman received his fifth yellow card in the previous game against Wrexham and will serve his one-game suspension. Additionally, the team will miss seven more players due to injuries. Some of them were a key part of the starting eleven - Todd Cantwell, Sondre Tronstad, Scott Wharton, and their first-choice goalkeeper, Balazs Toth. 

Ipswich secured promotion to the Premier League in the 2023/24 season but suffered relegation in the following season. This year, the popular Tractor Boys are among the promotion candidates. However, they haven't had a good start and because of it are in 8th place with 27 points from 17 matches. Still, a potential win here would put them in the Playoffs and three points away from direct promotion and second place. 

After a 2:1 loss vs Oxford Utd, coach Kieran McKenna spoke to the media. He said it feels like they "gave away the game". The coach emphasized they weren't clinical enough, but acknowledged that the players never gave up and kept going.
