Niko Kovac's team lost only one of 13 matches in the current campaign. In the last game, they won after penalties in the cup against Eintracht Frankfurt. Neither of the teams showed too much during the match, so they headed to the penalty shootout. The guests kept calm in decisive moments and secured another valuable victory.

After a cup win in Frankfurt, Niko Kovac talked about Borussia's season and how pleased he is. The head coach said, "I think my team has shown in recent games, and throughout this season, that we have quality no matter who's on the pitch. We definitely want to progress, and we need to impose our game from the first minute – and maybe all the way to the 120th."

Emre Can and Julien Duranville are injured and will not play on Friday night in Augsburg.
