Newcastle were almost unrecognizable last season, performing well below expectations and surprisingly finishing in mid-table. After such a disappointing campaign, they will be hoping to return among the Premier League's top sides in the new season and once again challenge for a place in the Champions League. Newcastle were excellent so far with two victories and one draw across all competitions. In the previous game, they won 2-0 on the road against Tottenham. The hosts probably deserved more that time, but Newcastle's excellent efficiency was enough for all three points. 

Newcastle made two transfers since the previous match. The team left Nick Woltemade, who went on loan to Juventus. On the other hand, the Magpies signed Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille for 60 million euros. The Belgian striker had eight goals and five assists in 29 Ligue 1 games last season. 

Newcastle have some problems with missing players. William Osula, Joelinton, and Dan Burn are unavailable for Saturday, while Valentino Livramento is questionable and his status will get clearer closer to the kickoff. 

Last season was the best ever for Bournemouth, as they finished sixth in the Premier League. While the fans will be hoping for another strong campaign, the significant changes made over the summer could make it difficult to repeat that success. A return to mid-table therefore seems like a more realistic expectation for Bournemouth this season. Marco Rose's team opened the year with only one point in the first two league rounds. In the previous game, they played 1-1 at home against Everton. 

Bournemouth was one of the rare teams that didn't make any moves in the final days of the summer transfer window. For Marco Rose, it is crucial that the midfielder Alex Scott remains in the team, despite interest from bigger clubs. 

Veljko Milosavljevic, Amine Adli, Eli Kroupi, and Julian Araujo are injured and will not play on Saturday in Newcastle.
