Al Nassr haven't had much success since Cristiano Ronaldo, despite their big aspirations. However, this could finally be their year. Besides a poor period around the New Year, the popular Knight of Najd have been amazing throughout the season. They are at the top spot with 79 points from 31 rounds, five points away from the second-placed Al Hilal, but with one game played more. Besides their Saudi Professional League campaign, Al Nassr have also reached the AFC Champions League 2 finals, where they will face off against Gamba Osaka. That final match will take place after two domestic league games against Al Shabab and Al Hilal. So, they are definitely in a good position, but need to finish the season strongly.

After a 3:1 loss to Al Qadsiah, coach Jorge Jesus spoke to the media. He was unhappy with a loss and said they suggested they weren't as fresh as usual. When asked why he left Sadio Mane out of the squad, the coach said the winger needed rest due to playing too many matches and having had health issues. The coach admitted Al Qadsiah were better, but also noted that losing is a part of football and that they need to recover.
