When do we publish our Spanish league predictions?

Nearly all La Liga football matches take place on weekends, and we like to get La Liga tips out long before that. For weekend matches, you can expect to see our La Liga betting predictions up by the middle of the week. This gives you time to study through them and then find the best Spanish La Liga betting odds at online sportsbooks.

Of course, sometimes matches don't fall on the weekends. But don't worry, as we've got these covered too. You'll generally find previews up and running a couple of days before each match takes place. Our today's football tips are worth reading, as we are the best Spanish Primera Division predictions site around!

2026/27 La Liga format

There are 20 teams in La Liga, so we’ll have 38 rounds of matches and plenty of Spanish league predictions during the season. The top four teams will qualify for the Champions League, while the fifth-placed team will play in the Europa League along with the Spanish Cup winners. The sixth-placed side receives a spot in the Conference League, while the bottom three sides will be relegated and replaced by three teams promoted from the Segunda Division.

Barcelona are coming off back-to-back La Liga titles and are now chasing a third in a row. They are the favourites for another championship, with Real Madrid right behind them after slowly rebuilding the squad and getting ready to stop their biggest rivals. Atletico Madrid didn’t do well in the league last season, but they are still among the main contenders. Real Betis, Villarreal, and Athletic Club are the dark horses this season. It’s hard to see any of these three winning the league, but there’s always a chance.

Mallorca, Girona, and Oviedo were relegated last season. They are replaced by Malaga, Racing Santander, and Deportivo La Coruna. The battle for survival should be just as exciting once again, and our editorial team will do its best to find the best betting opportunities throughout the season.

La Liga betting tips and predictions for 2026/27

While we'll give away our La Liga predictions and tips on this page week in week out, it's always interesting to look into the long-term picture. Let's try to think about the table at the end of the season and predict who'll be celebrating and which teams will be lamenting their chances.

La Liga winner prediction

Barcelona are the favourites to win a third La Liga title in a row at 1.80. Real Madrid have made some pretty big moves to make sure that doesn't happen. Florentino Perez brought back The Special One, Jose Mourinho, and, of course, signed some big names. This includes newly crowned world champion Marc Cucurella and Manchester City legend Bernardo Silva, just to name a few. Their current odds to win the title sit at 2.10.

Barcelona have also strengthened their already star-studded attacking line. They brought in Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, who scored 10 Champions League goals for the English club last season, and they also signed Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.

Atletico Madrid are sitting third with a big gap, as their title odds are priced at 15.00. For most of the transfer window, they have been fighting to keep Julian Alvarez, for whom the club reportedly received a €150 million offer from Real Madrid and a slightly lower one from Barcelona.

Atletico went on a shopping spree, bringing in Morten Hjulmand from Sporting, Kang-in Lee from Champions League winners PSG, and Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen. You can clearly see that Diego Simeone is serious about fighting for the first place. Last season, the team looked horrible in the domestic league, but had a pretty big success in both Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Prediction: Barcelona will retain the title, making it three La Liga championships in a row.

La Liga relegation predictions

As usual, the clubs that just got promoted are the ones most likely to go straight back down. Malaga are the favourites for relegation at 2.20, while Racing Santander are close behind at 2.37. Both teams haven't done much during the transfer window to strengthen their squads.

Deportivo La Coruna, meanwhile, are third favourites for relegation at 3.00, but they are getting ready to squeeze every point they can. They signed six new players, including veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Marseille and Bayern Munich defender Jonathan Jensen Asp.

Levante and Elche are the clubs that managed to stay up last season. Elche finished just one point above the relegation zone, while Levante were saved only by their head-to-head record against Mallorca. Elche lost all three of their top goalscorers from last season and haven't really signed any strong replacements in attack. That could become a huge problem over the course of the season.

Prediction: Malaga, Racing Santander and Elche will be relegated.

La Liga best goalscorer prediction

Kylian Mbappe is the top favourite, and rightfully so. The Frenchman won the Pichichi Trophy last season with 25 league goals. He then added 10 more goals to his tally during the World Cup, becoming the tournament's all-time top goalscorer. He remains the cherry on top of Real Madrid's attack and the team's main penalty taker.

You should also keep in mind that strikers from lower-table clubs can finish among the league's top scorers. Last season, for example, it was Vedat Muriqi from Mallorca, who scored 23 goals, just two behind Mbappe. However, we would also suggest Vinicius Junior, who finished the 2025/26 season with 16 league goals. If Mourinho finds a way to get the best out of him, he will definitely be producing goals.

Lamine Yamal is in the conversation too. The young Spaniard finished fourth in the scoring charts last season with 16 goals. He didn't do much at the World Cup, but he is getting better day by day, and his prime is still yet to come.

Prediction: Kylian Mbappe will once again finish as the top goalscorer of La Liga.
