Turkey Super Lig predictions and tips

Eighteen clubs will battle it out in the Trendyol Süper Lig 2026/27. Adana Demirspor, Sivasspor, Antalyaspor, Kayserispor and Fatih Karagümrük were all relegated last season and replaced by Amedspor, Çorum and Erzurumspor. The latter returned to the elite after a 5-year absence.

Galatasaray are the defending champions, having won gold medals for the 26th time last season. It was their fourth consecutive title, all won under the current manager, Okan Buruk. The Cimbom will start the 2026/27 campaign as top contenders for another silverware, but Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş obviously have different ideas about that. The top two teams earn a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League, and the team finishing third will compete in the Europa League along with the holders of the Turkish Cup. Finally, the fourth-placed club qualifies for the Europa Conference League. The three bottom teams are relegated to the TFF 1. Lig and replaced by the three best clubs of that division.

Given the odds, we are in for another battle between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. The Cimbom have won the league in the last four seasons; they sit dead-even with Fenerbahçe at 2.00 to become the champions this time around. Galatasaray managed to keep all their leaders, including Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, and Davinson Sanchez. They have also acquired midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Burnley.

As for Fenerbahçe, the 65-year-old İsmail Kartal now stands at the helm of the club. He has 25+ years of coaching experience in Turkish football, and this will be his fourth stint with the capital team. Meanwhile, his only previous achievement with Fenerbahçe was the Turkish Super Cup in 2014. The biggest story was the signing of Mason Greenwood from Marseille; other newcomers are Vedat Muriqi, Sidiki Sherif and Nathan Ake. It remains to be seen how quickly all of them will settle in at the new club.

Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor are next in line, both sitting at 11.00. The Black Eagles decided to sign coach Vincenzo Italiano in midseason, and he has never worked in Turkey before. He did pretty well with Bologna in the last three seasons, yet a new country is always a challenge. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor stole the headlines by signing Mohamed Salah. The Turkish Cup holders have big ambitions, but it seems that they will be limited to fighting with Beşiktaş for third place.

Prediction: Galatasaray will claim their fifth straight title.
