Although only two years ago, Thun played in the second level of Swiss football, they shocked everyone with a brilliant campaign in the 2025/26 season and their first domestic league title. Eventually, Thun ended five points ahead of the next team on the table, St. Gallen. Still, after losing several key players this summer, it remains to be seen whether the Stockhorn Arena side can maintain the same level of performance.

Thun's only appearance in the Champions League was in 2005/06. Since then, they haven't had too many matches in the European competitions. The previous one was seven years ago when Thun lost to Spartak Moscow in the Europa League qualifications. 

This summer, Franz-Ethan Meichtry and Elmin Rastoder, two important players from the previous season, have already left Thun. The team from Stockhorn Arena added Nicolas Burgy, Dorian Derbaci, Nassim Zoukit, and Nico Maier in the current transfer window. Still, the big question is whether those players are at an adequate level. 

This summer, Thun played three friendly matches and won only one. In the most recent test, Thun lost 2-1 against Mannheim. Losing to a team from Germany's third tier of football is not a good sign ahead of Champions League qualification. 

Dinamo Zagreb are a dominant force in Croatian football. Last season, they won their eighth title in the previous nine years. They ended with 18 points more than their biggest rival, Hajduk Split, and sometimes, it seems that Dinamo doesn't have an adequate opponent in domestic football. In the upcoming season, the team from the Croatian capital will likely again play a prominent role in national football. 

Dinamo Zagreb regularly plays in European competitions. In the Champions League, they last appeared two seasons ago, while the previous year, Dinamo Zagreb were in the Europa League. 

Dinamo Zagreb have made some important transfer moves this summer, too. Probably the most important departure was Dominik Livakovic, who returned to Fenerbahce after a six-month loan to Dinamo. On the other hand, the Croatian champions made a few interesting additions. Probably the most important was Stjepan Radeljic, who came from Rijeka. They also signed Dani Rodriguez (Barca Atletic), Mislav Orsic (Paphos), and Moreno Zivkovic (Vukovar 1991). 

Dinamo Zagreb had four friendly matches this summer and won three of them. In the previous test, they played only 0-0 against LNZ Cherkasy.
