The Stadium of Light is the host for a Championship clash on Tuesday evening as promotion-chasing Sunderland takes on mid-table visitors Preston.

Sunderland vs Preston Betting Tips - Sunderland to Win

Sunderland continue their push for promotion as they welcome Preston North End to the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats enter this clash in strong form, having secured back-to-back 2:1 victories over Sheffield United and Cardiff City.

Regis Le Bris's men have performed well at home, winning five of their last eight matches at the Stadium of Light, where they have suffered just one league defeat all season.

Placed fourth in the division, but already 15 points clear of seventh placed Bristol, a place in the playoffs is all but secure for the Black Cats. However, Le Bris's side find themselves eight points behind joint league-leaders Leeds and Sheffield United.

Preston, meanwhile, have struggled away from Deepdale, losing five of their last eight away games, including their most recent fixture - a 1:0 defeat to Sheffield United. Paul Heckingbottom’s side put up a decent fight at Bramall Lane but lacked a cutting edge in attack.

With their promotion hopes fading and an FA Cup quarter-final on the horizon, the Lilywhites focus may be shifting towards their fairytale cup run.

Sunderland secured a 2-0 victory when these sides last met at this venue, and with Preston's poor away form, another home win looks likely.

Given the Black Cats' impressive record at the Stadium of Light, and Preston´s relatively poor road form, I'm putting my stake on the hosts to claim a third win in succession on Tuesday.
