Twenty teams are competing in Serie A, and each club plays the others home and away, so there are 38 rounds of matches in a single season. But it's not just scudetto on the line - the top four teams will qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. The fifth team will play in the Europa League, while the side that finishes in sixth place will earn a spot in the Europa Conference League. The last three clubs will be relegated to Serie B and replaced by the top three teams of that division.
Napoli will defend their title in the 25/26 season, having finished first last time round, ahead of Inter Milan and Atalanta. Juventus, AC Milan, and Roma will be among the title contenders too, and this season promises to be a very intriguing one.
Empoli, Venezia, and Monza were relegated to Serie B in 24/25, and Sassuolo, Pisa, and Cremonese replaced them. It will be a dogfight for survival once again, with at least six teams having realistic chances to slide down to the second division. One thing is certain, though - if you were looking for an Italian league prediction, you've come to the right place.
Most Serie A matches take place on the weekends. Usually there’s a game on Friday evening and a few matches on Saturday, while the rest are played on Sunday. We’ll publish our Italian league predictions for the weekend games by Wednesday. This will give you plenty of time to read through them and think about the betting options on offer.
If there are any midweek matches, our tips and predictions will be ready by Monday. When creating Serie A tips, we always give our experts enough time. This ensures that they provide the most accurate soccer predictions possible, which should benefit your betting results. We might not be the quickest to publish the betting previews, but our record proves that this strategy is entirely reasonable.
There's no shortage of betting markets when it comes to Serie A matches, and we'll try to find spots with the most value for you, while giving away tips and predictions on the correct score. To add to it, you can also bet on various outrights of the tournament ahead and during the season.
The defending champions Napoli start the season as the favourites. The bookies offer the odds of 2.62 for them to retain the title. Antonio Conte's side managed to keep all their best players and even became stronger by signing Kevin de Bruyne and Sam Beukema. Conte is a powerful tactician and builds his teams from defence. Napoli had the best defence last season, letting in just 27 goals in 38 matches.
Next, at 3.75, are the Champions League finalists, Inter Milan. Their most significant loss is the manager Simone Inzaghi, and it remains to be seen how Cristian Chivu will do at the helm of the club. Notably, the Romanian has less than a year of experience in senior football, previously working with Inter's youth teams and taking control of Parma in February 2025.
Juventus are the third favourites, and they can be had at 6.00. The most decorated Italian club finished in fourth place last season, which is a poor result for the Bianconeri. They had a very active midseason, signing many good players, including Lloyd Kelly, Nico González, João Mário, Francisco Conceição, Jonathan David, and Pierre Kalulu. Basically, half of the squad is new, and Igor Tudor needs a miracle to find the winning formula immediately.
Last but not least are AC Milan, at 6.50. They've let go Tijjani Reijnders, Theo Hernández, and Kalulu, but got Samuele Ricci, Pervis Estupiñán, and the ingenious Luka Modrić instead. Finishing in eighth place last season, they signed Massimiliano Allegri at the end of May. The manager returns to Milan 11 years after his first term with the club, and he doesn't have much time for experiments either.
Prediction: Napoli will win consecutive titles for the first time in their history.
Pisa, at 1.72, are the biggest favourites to be relegated. They've struggled to attract big-name signings, bringing in veteran defenders and loanees only. Their squad has limited top-flight experience and will struggle to compete with established Serie A teams regularly, so the manager, Alberto Gilardino, has his hands full.
Next are other newcomers, Cremonese, to be relegated at the odds of 1.83. They have probably the smallest budget in the league, and while the manager, Davide Nicola, has bags of experience, it's very hard to see Cremonese keeping their place under the sun.
Hellas Verona to be relegated can be had at 2.50. They have a yo-yo history between Serie A and B, and their 2025 summer transfer window did little to address defensive problems. There were reports of dressing-room unrest, which never helps either. Looks like it will be extremely hard for Verona to repeat their result of last season when they finished in 14th place.
Lecce and Sassuolo are the following applicants for relegation at 3.00. Neither team can be happy with their financial situation, as they have to build their teams on potential rather than class and experience. However, managers Eusebio Di Francesco and Fabio Grosso are very experienced, and that should be the deciding factor in keeping both clubs in the elite.
Prediction: Pisa, Cremonese and Hellas Verona will be relegated to Serie B.
