As short-priced favourites, Gian Piero Gasperini's side will be expected to maintain winning form at the Olimpico.

Roma team overview

Roma return to Champions League action after securing a deserved 2:0 Serie A victory against Genoa on Saturday.

Santiago Castro opened the scoring with an excellent finish before Emanuele Lulli registered his first senior goal to secure the points.

Despite the absence of top scorer Donyell Malen, the Giallorossi were good value for their win at the Olimpico.

Before last weekend’s victory, Roma had failed to win each of three previous fixtures including a painful 4:3 Champions League defeat against Real Madrid.

The Italians appeared on course for a famous win after establishing a 3:1 advantage, but three late goals condemned Gasperini's side to their first defeat of the campaign.

The Giallorossi began their European campaign with a 1:1 draw at Fenerbahce and have collected only one point from their opening two league-phase fixtures.

Roma have been much more convincing domestically, picking up 17 points while remaining unbeaten in their first seven Serie A games this season.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have already picked up high-scoring home wins against Atalanta and Fiorentina, and will be expected to continue that trend against their Slovakian visitors.

The Serie A side have a few injury absentees this week. Mile Svilar, Manu Kone and Bryan Cristante are expected to remain unavailable through injury. Paulo Dybala is also doubtful after picking up a calf injury against Real Madrid.

Donyell Malen is available after serving a domestic suspension against Genoa and should return to the first XI. Gianluca Mancini, Wesley, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nahuel Molina are also pushing for recalls.

Slovan Bratislava

Slovan Bratislava team overview

Slovan Bratislava travel to Rome after claiming an impressive 3:0 victory against Spartak Trnava on Saturday.

Rahim Ibrahim scored twice, while Adam Griger also found the net as the Slovak champions secured a commanding derby victory.

That result was the ideal response to Wednesday's disappointing 3:0 home defeat against Stuttgart in their second UCL fixture of the season.

Yaya Toure's side have struggled badly at this level. Slovan began their league-phase campaign with a 6:1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain and conceded nine goals across two successive losses.

Competing in the league phase for the second time, Bratislava have now lost each of their last ten games in this competition, with 36 goals conceded in those defeats.

Slovan have no confirmed injury absentees ahead of Tuesday's trip to Italy.

Andraz Sporar could return to lead the attack after starting on the bench against Trnava.

Prediction

Roma hve been in good form this season, while Slovan’s record in this competition points to a likely comfortable home win.

I have my stake on Roma to win with at least four goals scored.
