Platense vs Santa Fe prediction 29.04.2026 | Copa Libertadores

Platense had a historic 2024/25 season, winning the title for the first time in its 120-year-old history. Unfortunately, the popular Calamares did not maintain that level and are now in 11th place in Apertura with 16 points after 15 rounds. Even though they have a theoretical chance of reaching the playoffs, we highly doubt they can make it. They need a win in the last round against the first-placed Estudiantes LP and a few other results to go their way as well.

In the Copa Libertadores, they are in a much more favorable position, sitting in 2nd place with three points after the first two rounds. A possible win here would massively increase their chances of reaching the next stage. 

For the upcoming tie, the team should have no new injuries. However, six players who missed previous games due to injury should remain sidelined - Ignacio Vazquez, Santiago Quiros, Marcos Portillo, Franco Minerva, Gonzalo Goni, and Hector Bobadilla.

Santa Fe, a reigning Colombian champion, are also playing an underwhelming season in the domestic league. They sit in 8th place after 16 rounds and are already 14 points away from the top. Still, there are some signs of improvement lately as they have won back-to-back games for only the second time this season. However, in the Copa Libertadores, they are under pressure to win points after winning only one point in the first two matches. 

After a 2:1 win over Deportivo Pasto, coach Pablo Repetto spoke to the media. He praised the team for their reaction and for turning things around in the second half. Overall, the coach was satisfied with the performance and mentality. 

The team should have no new injuries, but Maximiliano Lovera, Ewil Murillo, and Yilmar Velasquez should remain sidelined.
