Morocco continued their World Cup preparations with a commanding 4:0 win against Madagascar earlier this week. Ismael Saibar scored twice in a routine victory for the Atlas Lions at Complexe Sportif Moulay Abdellah.

Mohamed Ouahbi’s side had begun their summer campaign with an even more dominant 5:0 success against Burundi one week earlier. 

An outstanding run of form in the last year has seen Morocco remain unbeaten through 28 fixtures. They also claimed AFCON title glory following their controversial overturned final against Senegal in January.

Usually a reliable choice to get on the scoresheet, Morocco scored at least one goal in 14 of 15 previous fixtures.

Head coach Ouahbi is likely to field a strong starting XI ahead of the Atlas Lions first World Cup fixture against Brazil next week. Brahim Díaz and Achraf Hakimi are both expected to feature for the African champions.

Norway arrive in New York in high spirits after a dominant 3:1 win against Scandinavian rivals Sweden earlier this week. 

Despite the absence of Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, the Red, White and Blue produced another impressive attacking display, with Crystal Palace forward Jørgen Strand Larsen bagging a brace. 

Currently 31st in the FIFA rankings, Norway have enjoyed a brilliant year. Ståle Solbakken’s side won all of their World Cup qualifiers with a remarkable 37 goals scored. The in-form Europeans failed to score in just one of their last 17 fixtures.

Less impressive in recent friendly results, the Norwegians failed to win three successive non-competitive matches against New Zealand (1:1), Netherlands (2:1) and Switzerland (0:0) before their easy win against Sweden.

Head coach Solbakken is likely to field a strong XI this weekend. Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard are among those expected to earn recalls after being left out last Monday.
