Marseille vs Brest prediction 08.11.2025 | Ligue 1

After a weaker 2023/24 season, Marseille returned to the right track last season with second place in the most important domestic competition. However, PSG was too good to compete with them. The situation seems different in the current campaign as Marseille are second after 11 league rounds, but with only two points fewer than the team from the French capital. 

Marseille were almost flawless at the start of the 2025/26 season, but they have slowed recently, with only one victory in their last five matches across all competitions. In the most recent outing, De Zerbi's team lost 1-0 at home in the Champions League against Atalanta. The teams were close to splitting points, but Lazar Samardzic's fabulous strike late in the second half sealed victory for the Italian squad. 

Marseille's Ulisses Garcia received the red card in the previous Ligue 1 round and will not play on Saturday against Brest. Also, the team have big problems with injuries as Timothy Weah, Hamed Traore, Leonardo Balerdi, Amine Gouiri, Bilal Nadir, Facundo Medina, and Geoffrey Kondogbia are unavailable for the upcoming tie. 

After their best season in the team's history and third position two seasons ago, Brest returned to their usual mid-table level. This year, they could even be sucked into the relegation battle, as Eric Roy's team is currently only one point above the drop zone. Brest are without a victory in the last five matches. In the previous game, they played 0-0 at home against Lyon. The guests were playing with ten players for almost the whole game, but the home side failed to convert dominance into goals. 

Brest will have almost a full squad for the upcoming clash in Marseille, as Kamory Doumbia could be the only one unavailable. The head coach, Eric Roy, could decide to field the same lineup that played with split the points with Lyon last weekend.
