Genoa vs Como prediction 04.09.2026 | Serie A

Since Genoa returned to Serie A a few years ago, they have regularly been a lower-half team. Although Daniele De Rossi's team is hoping for a slightly better position in the 2026/27 campaign, it wouldn't be surprising if Genoa have another stressful year. The team from Stadio Luigi Ferraris is struggling at the start of the season with two defeats. After a 2-0 defeat to Napoli in the opening Serie A round, Genoa lost 1-0 on the road against Lazio in the most recent outing. In both matches, De Rossi's team struggled up front. 

Genoa made a few transfers in the final days of the transfer window. The most significant departure is Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who went to Hull. In the opposite direction came replacement Cody Drameh, who had two Premier League appearances this season. 

Lorenzo Venturino is injured and should be the only missing for the upcoming tie against Como. 

Last season was historic for Como. They finished fourth in Serie A and secured a place in the Champions League. Como have big expectations for the 2026/27 season, too, and it wouldn't be surprising to see them in the title race in the most significant domestic competition. Cesc Fabregas' team opened the season with four points from two matches. After a draw against Udinese in the first round, Como beat Napoli 2-1 on the road. 

Como made two big transfers since the previous league match. They loaned goalkeeper Robert Sanchez from Chelsea instead of Emil Audero, who went to Rayo Vallecano. However, the biggest addition is Moise Kean, who came from Fiorentina. The striker scored 27 goals in the last two Serie A seasons and will surely become a focal point of Como's attacking line. 

Injured Jayden Addai should be the only one missing for the trip to Genoa.
