FC Copenhagen come into Monday’s Superliga contest in high spirits after maintaining their recent improved form with a hard-fought 2:1 win against OB on Wednesday. 

First-half goals from Mads Emil Madsen (18') and Jordan Larsson (41') secured a fourth successive victory for Bo Svensson’s side.

A disastrous defence of their Danish title, saw Copenhagen finish the regular season outside the top six, resulting in an embarrassing place in the relegation round. However, they have picked up form, scoring 15 goals in their four recent victories.

High-scoring outcomes have been a recurring theme for the now former Danish champions. Remarkably, each of their last 14 games across all competitions finished with three or more goals scored.

Head coach Svensson has five confirmed absentees for Monday’s Superliga fixture. Magnus Mattsson, Rodrigo Huescas, Gabriel Pereira, Kenay Myrie and Oliver Højer are all ruled out through injury.

Vejle Boldklub arrive at Parken with their relegation to the second tier all but confirmed following a 2-1 home defeat against Silkeborg. Lasse Nielsen was sent off late on as Claus Nørgaard’s side slumped to their 16th defeat of the season.

With just four games remaining, Vejle now sit 12 points short of safety, and only a remarkable sequence of results will prevent their relegation to the second division. 

A dismal road record has been a big factor in Boldklub’s demise this season. Nørgaard’s men failed to win any of 13 away fixtures (D5, L8). An average of 3.3 goals per game was scored in those road trips.

Vejle boss Nørgaard has a handful of players unavailable for the trip to Copenhagen. Lundrim Hetemi, Damian van Bruggen, Wahid Faghir, Anders Jacobsen and Sander Ravn are all missing with various injury issues.
