How the Dutch Eredivisie works

Each of the Eredivisie’s 18 clubs will play each other twice per season, resulting in a total of 306 games.

Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV have dominated this league, and they have also enjoyed plenty of success in Europe, too. The remainder of the teams, including AZ Alkmaar, FC Utrecht and FC Twente, also have a significant following and tend to represent the Netherlands in European competitions.

Here is what you can expect each season:

  • The team finishing first will qualify for the Champions League 3rd qualifying round.
  • The second-placed team goes into the Champions League 2nd qualifying round.
  • The team finishing bottom of the league is automatically relegated.
  • The teams finishing in 16th and 17th go into a playoff with two teams from the Eerste Divisie to see if they’re assigned or not.
  • The relegation playoffs can be hugely exciting, and many people in the Netherlands place bets on the playoffs every year.

When we publish the Netherlands Eredivisie predictions

We tend to release our predictions two to three days before the Eredivisie’s weekend fixtures to ensure that you have plenty of time to check our soccer predictions

If you’re a fan of Dutch football, remember that we don’t just provide Eredivisie tips and table predictions. We also offer top football betting tips on other competitions involving teams from the Netherlands, including the Champions League and the Europa League.

Popular Eredivisie betting tips

There is a huge range of bets available on this league, and you can learn about the most popular Eredivisie bets below.

Win-Draw-Win

Win-draw-win market (or 1x2 betting) – betting on a team to win, lose or draw – this is the simplest and most popular way to wager. Sometimes, the odds are too good to ignore in this market.

Correct Score

Our soccer predictions will also include correct score predictions. Predicting the correct score of a game isn’t necessarily the easiest, but it can lead to much larger wins than simply using the 1X2 market.

Accumulators

Accumulators are massively popular, as they can lead to some massive prizes! Typically, an accumulator consists of three or more predictions and all of these predictions must be successful for the bet to be successful. You often hear stories about people winning tens of thousands of pounds from a football accumulator bet for just a small outlay.
