- Competition: 2. Bundesliga
- Date: 12th December 2025
- Kick-off: 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
- Venue: Stade Raymond Kopa
Dynamo Dresden are sniffing around the chance to finally put together two home wins in a row, something that has oddly slipped through their fingers all season. Both sides are stuck in the league’s lower reaches, with the gold and blacks sitting 17th and Eintracht Braunschweig a few steps ahead in 14th. Oddsmakers lean ever so slightly toward Dresden, although whether that’s faith or habit is up for debate. I’ll walk through the matchup a bit, look at what shape each squad is in, and see if that small nudge toward the hosts holds up.

These two have met eight times since 2011, all in the second tier, so the history is fairly contained but still telling. Dresden took two of those games, Braunschweig edged three, and the rest fizzled out into draws. If you average it all out, you get about 2.37 goals per match, which doesn’t exactly scream chaos but gives you a sense of the usual pace between them.
Dynamo Dresden team overview
Dresden were sharp in the third tier last season, finishing second with a hefty 70 points, and a big part of that push came from their form at home. Oddly enough, that same spark hasn’t translated this year.
At the Stade Raymond Kopa, Thomas Stamm’s side have managed only one win from eight attempts, which is a pretty stark drop off. Still, that win came not too long ago, and you can almost feel the squad trying to convince themselves that Braunschweig are beatable in their current state.
Christoph Daferner, who leads the club in goals with six across all competitions, sat out the loss to FCK because of a head knock. From what’s been said, he won’t be ready in time for Friday either.
Boss Thomas Stamm also has to juggle a stack of absences: Jakob Zickler, Sascha Risch, Tony Menzel, Jan Hendrik Marx and Lennart Grill are all sidelined with various knocks and muscle problems.

Eintracht Braunschweig team overview
Braunschweig scraped through the relegation playoff last season and, well, it feels like some of that tension has carried over. Die Löwen have picked up only four wins from fifteen games, keeping them barely two points above the bottom two.
And their away form has been especially shaky, with two straight road defeats coming into this one. To be fair, Heiner Backhaus’ side did steady themselves a bit at home with two unbeaten matches, although those performances haven’t fully convinced supporters that the worst is behind them.
Lukas Frenkert won’t feature after being sent off in the draw with Holstein Kiel last weekend. The injury list is still a concern too, with Frederik Jäkel, Lino Tempelmann and Florian Flick all dealing with longer term ligament and muscle issues.

Prediction
This feels like one of those tense winter fixtures where neither side risks much, and Dresden’s slightly improved home rhythm might just tilt it. Braunschweig have lost two straight away games and created very little, while Stamm’s side at least showed signs of control in their last outing at the Kopa. With Daferner out, goals may be scarce, but I can still imagine Dresden edging a scruffy 1–0.
Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals in this game
- Dynamo scored more than once in just one of their last three home matches.
- None of the last four games of Eintracht Braunschweig produced more than two goals.
- Five of the last six league meetings between Dynamo and Braunschweig finished with under 2.5 goals.
Main prediction -
Under 2.5 goals
