Brann welcomes Apollon Limassol to Bergen on Wednesday evening in the first leg of their Conference League third qualifying round tie.
The Norwegian hosts look to build a first-leg advantage at Brann Stadion after an entertaining domestic win against Rosenborg last weekend.
Apollon were dominant in their second round win against Dila, but this should be a tougher test against a Brann side already in competitive rhythm.
Brann team overview
Brann return to Conference League qualification action after a thrilling 3:2 win against Rosenborg in the Eliteserien last weekend. Having trailed 2:1 in the second period, a stoppage-time goal from Kristian Eriksen secured a superb comeback victory.
The Norwegians have been in solid form in the past month, winning four and losing just one of six fixtures.
Eirik Horneland’s side secured their place in the third qualifying round with a 5:3 aggregate victory against Universitatea Cluj. Brann bagged a 3:1 second-leg victory after a hard-fought 2:2 draw in Romania.
High-scoring outcomes have been a recurring theme in recent weeks. Each of Brann’s last 14 games, including nine competitive fixtures, finished with BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored.
European qualifiers in Bergen usually follow a similar path, with seven of nine home qualification matches since 2020 seeing the same two outcomes.
Head coach Horneland has two confirmed absentees ahead of Wednesday’s clash. Sakarias Opsahl remains sidelined with a foot injury, while Nana Kwame Boakye is a long-term absentee with a knee problem.
Kristian Eriksen and Kristall Máni Ingason are pushing for recalls after both scored in second-half substitute appearances against Rosenborg.

Apollon Limassol team overview
Apollon Limassol makes the trip to Norway after progressing to the third qualifying round with a commanding 7:0 aggregate victory against Dila Gori.
The Cypriots effectively secured the tie with a 4:0 first-leg win in Georgia. Brandon Thomas, Gaetan Weissbeck and Alen Ozbolt were among the scorers in a dominant home win.
Apollon then finished the job with a 3:0 victory in Limassol last week, securing their place in Wednesday’s tie.
Yet to kick-off their domestic campaign, the Cypriots finished last season in mixed form. Limassol lost three of their last six games, before a 2:0 defeat in the final of the Cypriot Cup.
Hernán Losada has several new faces available this week. Connor Goldson, Ike Ugbo, Konstantinos Balogiannis, Emanuel Aiwu and Alen Ozbolt all joined the Cypriot side this summer and are among those in contention to feature against Brann.
Danilo Spoljaric is unavailable because of a ligament injury.

Prediction
Brann are in good form, and with plenty of competitive action in their legs, should prove too strong for an Apollon side that has yet to kick-off their domestic campaign.
A home win is my best bet in Brann.
Three Reasons Why We Expect Brann to Win
- Brann won 4 of their last 6 matches
- Brann scored 2+ goals in their last 6 matches
- Apollon Limassol have played just 2 games this season
