Summer signing Christos Tzolis made an immediate impression by scoring on his debut, while several academy graduates have continued to stake their claims for first-team involvement. 

The Gunners ended the 2025/26 campaign as Premier League champions and Champions League finalists, and expectations remain high heading into the new season. Arteta has been rotating heavily during pre-season, allowing fringe players and youngsters significant minutes while gradually reintegrating World Cup participants into the squad.

The Spanish side have scored consistently throughout pre-season while gradually increasing the intensity of their performances. 

Like Arsenal, squad rotation is expected, with Pellegrini likely to manage workloads carefully rather than field his strongest XI for the entire match. No significant fresh injury concerns have emerged from their recent friendlies, allowing the Spanish club to continue preparations with a largely healthy squad.
