- Date: Tuesday, 21st July 2026
- Kickoff: 18:00 UK / 19:00 CEST
- Venue: Cepheus Park (Randers)
On Tuesday evening, Aarhus and Lech Poznan will start their European journey this summer. Neither of these two teams had success in the previous attempts to reach the Champions League and will be eager to write a new, successful chapter in their clubs' histories. Can Aarhus exploit the home stadium advantage and win in the first leg? Let's find the best betting option for the upcoming tie.
Aarhus team overview
Last season, Aarhus won their first title in the Danish domestic league in 40 years. Although some other teams had significantly bigger budgets, Jakob Poulsen's team ended seven points ahead of the next in the standings, Midtjylland. Most Aarhus players from last season have remained in the team, but still, it seems pretty unrealistic for them to repeat such a year.
Aarhus never played in the group phase of any European competition. In their previous attempt, three years ago, AGF lost in the second qualifying round of the Conference League to Club Brugge.
The only significant player who left Aarhus this summer so far is center-back Felix Beijmo, who went to FC Copenhagen. Jakob Poulsen's team didn't sign a replacement, but they have a few exciting youngsters who could step up. On the other hand, the most important addition this summer is Mikael Anderson, who came from Djurgarden. The midfielder is returning to a familiar environment, having worn the Aarhus jersey a couple of years before moving to Sweden. The other important signings are Jens Jonsson (who came from AEK Athens) and Sebastian Jorgensen (Malmo FF).
Aarhus had a 2-1-1 record in four friendly matches this summer. In the most recent test, they won 2-0 against Horsens. Aarhus scored eight goals this summer, and it seems they will not lack attacking firepower in the upcoming season.

Lech Poznan team overview
Last season, Lech won their second consecutive domestic league trophy. Some other teams have a greater historic importance in Poland, but the team from Poznan gradually became the strongest team in the country. With Lech getting only better every year, it will not be surprising if they triumph in the upcoming season, too.
Lech Poznan never played in the Champions League group phase, but they had a few very good campaigns in the other two European competitions in the previous years. Last season, they competed in the Conference League, where Lech eventually lost in the 1/8 final to Shakhtar Donetsk.
Most important players from the previous seasons remained, and Lech, with a few additions, seems a better team. The most important signing is Terry Yegbe, who came from Metz, where they had 24 Ligue 1 appearances. Also, Lech signed Allahyar Sayyadmanesh (who came from Westerlo) and Mateusz Lis (Goztepe).
Lech Poznan had only two friendlies this summer and won them both. They already started the 2026/27 season with a 3-1 Super Cup victory over Gornik Zabrze. Lech showed some defensive issues in that match, but still lifted another trophy.
