After being benched in several matches, Mohamed Salah suddenly finds himself in a strange position at Liverpool FC. His relationship with Arne Slot has become strained, with the Egyptian openly questioning why a player who has given so much to the club is now being sidelined. However, his stats no longer fully support those words. With just four goals in 14 Premier League matches, Salah is not producing at the level Liverpool have come to expect.
Despite being under contract until June 2027, Salah has made his frustration clear. The player is now away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Liverpool face a defining choice during the winter transfer window. In this article, we break down Salah's most realistic destinations and whether his chapter at Anfield is nearing its end.

According to the bookies, Salah is most likely to stay at Liverpool FC beyond February 2nd. However, a cluster of Saudi Pro League clubs sit close behind in the odds, showing serious interest. Inter Miami is also in the mix, hyped up by the potential link-up with Lionel Messi.

| Liverpool | 1.20 |
| Al Hilal Riyadh | 9.00 |
| Inter Miami | 11.00 |
| Al-Nassr Riyadh | 17.00 |
| Al Ittihad Jeddah | 19.00 |

For now, everything points towards Salah staying at Liverpool until the end of the season. Liverpool were open to letting him go if the squad situation allowed it, but after Alexander Isak got injured, the picture has changed. With limited attackers available, Salah became too important to lose. After fearing he was being pushed out, he was brought back into the fold against Brighton & Hove Albion. This was a clear sign that both sides are willing to park their differences and see out the campaign together.

Interest from Al Hilal is far from speculative. The club would be willing to pay around €115 million for Mohamed. It's the same amount they were previously prepared to spend on Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United. Much like previous high-profile signings of European stars, Al Hilal view Mohamed Salah as a potential new face of the club. He could further elevate international interest in the Saudi Pro League.

Another intriguing option could be a move to the US, Inter Miami in particular. MLS officials have openly asked Salah to explore the league. He could have a chance to follow Messi's successful path overseas. However, there is not as much money as in Saudi Arabia, and the salary cap could make this deal complex. Still, the link-up with Messi could be an interesting one, given that both Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez could leave the club by the end of this season.

The situation at Al Nassr is pretty much the same as with Al Hilal. They are interested, and they have the money. The club could push hard for either a loan or a permanent move to see the Egyptian play in the Arab world. Even Cristiano Ronaldo has asked the management of Al Nassr to pursue Salah last year, before the latter renewed his deal with Liverpool.
Al Ittihad have a history of interest in Salah and would almost certainly re-enter the race if he becomes available. The Saudi side previously attempted to sign Salah on a one-year loan for an astronomical fee, but Liverpool rejected the move at the time. Now, with the uncertainty raised, Al Ittihad are expected to be among the first clubs ready to act again should the door open.
Al Ahli are also firmly in the picture, tracking Salah's situation ahead of January. Unlike their rivals, Al Ahli currently lack a true global poster star. It's something Al Nassr have with Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Hilal previously had with Neymar Jr. That makes Salah an especially attractive option as a potential new face of the club.
PSG did explore a move for Salah around a year ago, but they have cooled down since then. Looks like the club is now watching the situation from a distance and has no intention of entering a bidding war with Saudi clubs. With Salah under contract until 2027 and on a high salary, Paris are believed to value him far lower, around €30 million. This makes a winter move highly unlikely from their side.
An outside MLS option could be the Seattle Sounders, who are monitoring Salah's situation as part of the league's interest. Seattle have the infrastructure and ambitions to make a signing, but only if conditions align. The deal would be financially challenging, though. The club remains a long-shot contender, but the chances are slim.
A switch to Fenerbahce would definitely raise eyebrows, but it can't be ruled out completely. The Turkish giants are reportedly tracking Salah, whose market value has dropped to around €30 million. That would still be a huge investment for a Super Lig side, but the chance to sign a player of Salah's stature makes the idea tempting.
The situation around Salah still feels fragile, with plenty happening behind closed doors. After a conversation with Slot, tensions have eased enough for Salah to return as a substitute against Brighton. What exactly was agreed remains unclear, but events on the pitch may have shown another story. Isak's injury could leave him out of the squad for months, and Liverpool don't have many attacking options. This makes Salah harder to sell. Once he returns from AFCON, the club are likely to need him, and our view is that he stays through the end of the season.
