UFC Fight Night returns this weekend with action set for the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. A lightweight main event takes centre stage, with Renato Moicano facing Scotland's Chris Duncan.
Duncan comes in riding a four-fight winning streak, but he hasn't fought a top-10 lightweight opponent since joining the UFC. The Brazilian will be the toughest test of his career by far. Read our Moicano vs Duncan prediction to find out what to expect from both fighters, check the latest betting odds, and see how we expect this fight to unfold.

The bookies clearly favour Duncan, likely driven by his current winning streak. One of the most notable markets is Duncan winning by KO/TKO at 2.30, which is even lower than Moicano's overall win odds.

Duncan is slightly younger, which could play a role in terms of pace. Physically, though, the two are almost identical across the board, with similar height and build. Moicano holds only slight physical advantages, with a 1-inch height edge and a minimal 0.5-inch reach advantage.

Money Moicano enters this main event in a difficult spot. He hasn't won since 2024 and is currently on a two-fight losing streak. However, one of those defeats came on short notice against Islam Makhachev. Despite that, he remains a proven top-10 fighter with elite experience. His grappling remains his biggest weapon. When he survives early danger, he often looks like the more complete martial artist.
What makes this fight more intriguing is the dynamic with Duncan, as both have trained together at American Top Team. Moicano admitted the camp was confusing. "The gym, I'm not going to say was divided, but some guys that were helping him were not training with me".
Stylistically, the Brazilian is a complicated fighter. He's dangerous on the mat, but vulnerable on the feet. His chin durability has been tested multiple times during his career, yet his ability to recover and take over fights later on keeps him competitive.
Moicano looked sensational in the BSD fight. Energy efficient takedown and then he delivered a beat down from the top position

| Date | Opponent | Result |
| 28.06.2025 | Beneil Dariush | Lost by decision (unanimous) |
| 18.01.2025 | Islam Makhachev | Lost by submission (brabo choke) - 4:05, R1 |
| 28.09.2024 | Benoit Saint Denis | Won by TKO (doctor stoppage) - 5:00, R2 |
| 13.04.2024 | Jalin Turner | Won by TKO (elbows and punches) - 4:11, R2 |
| 03.02.2024 | Drew Dober | Won by decision (unanimous) |
Duncan has been steadily building his reputation inside the UFC, but his rise hasn't exactly been smooth. Earlier in his career, he was viewed as a chaotic, high-risk fighter. He was the kind of opponent many were willing to fade because of his reckless style. Over time, though, he's managed to turn that chaos into a real strength.
Training at American Top Team, Duncan knows Moicano's game very well, which adds an extra layer to this matchup. He's the heavier hitter and probably the more dangerous striker. He has the ability to end the fight at any moment.
At the same time, that aggressive approach means he absorbs shots and leaves openings, something a skilled grappler can take advantage of. This is a big step up for Duncan, and we're yet to see if he has what it takes to be amongst the top fighters of the lightweight division.
| Date | Opponent | Result |
| 06.12.2025 | Terrance McKinney | Won by submission (anaconda choke) - 2:30, R1 |
| 02.08.2025 | Mateusz Rebecki | Won by decision (unanimous) |
| 22.03.2025 | Jordan Vucenic | Won by submission (guillotine choke) - 3:42, R2 |
| 28.09.2024 | Bolaji Oki | Won by technical submission (guillotine choke) - 3:44, R1 |
| 24.02.2024 | Manuel Torres | Lost by submission (rear-naked choke) - 1:46, R1 |
This is one of those matchups where both sides come with clear risks. Duncan has the power and finishing ability to end the fight early, especially against a fighter who has shown durability issues. On the other hand, Moicano is the more experienced and well-rounded martial artist, particularly if the fight goes past the opening rounds.
The familiarity from training together could lead to a more cautious approach, which slightly favours the Brazilian. If he can survive the early pressure, his grappling and fight IQ should take over. We're leaning towards Moicano to weather the storm early and get his hand raised.
