Manchester United are 7th on 26 points, and they've been a proper rollercoaster lately. They smashed Wolves 4-1, then played out a wild 4-4 draw with Bournemouth, before slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa. Back on home turf, they'll fancy their chances of setting the tone early.
Newcastle sit 11th with 23 points, and their recent results tell a similar story. They beat Fulham 2-1 in the EFL Cup, lost 1-0 at Sunderland, and then they drew 2-2 with Chelsea. Newcastle were in front in that game but let it slip in the second half, failing to see it out. That's been the issue: they can start well, but they don't always finish the job.
The Red Devils have looked a bit more reliable lately, and playing at Old Trafford gives them an extra edge in a game that should have chances at both ends. Newcastle are dangerous, but the way they faded against Chelsea is a red flag. We're backing Manchester United to win at 2.40
