2026 Winter Olympics Figure Skating Odds & Predictions

By Klimentijs Konevs | Published: February 9, 2026

The team figure skating event is now in the books after a busy weekend, and the focus turns to the individual disciplines. From here on, it's all about the four headline events: men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. With no team scores to fall back on, every sequence carries extra weight in chasing individual Olympic glory.

The battle for medals will continue right through 19 February, with each discipline unfolding over multiple days. This article breaks down each category one by one, looking at the main favourites and realistic challengers. We'll outline what to expect in each event and share our own predictions.

Ice dance Olympics odds

The US pair Madison Chock and Evan Bates head into the ice dance event as the clear betting favourites at 1.57, thanks to years of top-level results. Sitting just behind them are the French pair Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron at 2.87. They're the current European champions and the strongest challengers in the field.

Athletes Odds
Chock/Bates 1.57
Fournier Beaudry/Cizeron 2.87
Gilles/Poirier 15.00
Guignard/Fabbri 19.00
Fear/Gibson 19.00

Prediction

Chock and Bates have been the standard-setters in ice dancing, winning the World Championships for three years in a row. Also, they already have Olympic gold from the team event in Beijing 2022.

Canada's Piper Gillies and Paul Poirier finished second at the 2025 Worlds, and they do have the skills to challenge the main contenders. History suggests they may again find themselves just outside the podium, though.

This feels like a straight fight between the USA and France. With their consistency, we're backing Chock and Bates to secure their first Olympic gold in ice dance.

Men's figure skating Olympics odds

The men's figure skating market is headed by Ilia Malinin at 1.02, who opens as an overwhelming favourite. Yuma Kagiyama sits far behind him at 17.00, while the rest of the field is priced much higher.

Athlete Odds
Ilia Malinin 1.02
Yuma Kagiyama 17.00
Adam Siao Him Fa 26.00
Daniel Grassi 26.00
Shun Sato 29.00

Prediction

Malinin is the reigning world champion, winning the title in 2024 and successfully defending it in 2025. Even after a surprise short-program setback in the team event where Kagiyama edged him out, Malinin remains the man to beat. He still won the gold with his team.

At his best, he offers a level of difficulty no one else can match. The hope now is for a performance that truly lands. Kagiyama, already a double Olympic silver medallist, should be right there again. Gold, though, still points toward Malinin.

Pairs' figure skating Olympics odds

Odds to follow

Prediction

Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara are the proven champions, having won the World Championship in 2023 and 2025. Their dominant showing in the Olympic team event only reinforced their status. When the Japanese duo skate clean, their overall quality is over the top.

The Georgian pair Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulova finished second in the team event. They made history earlier this season by becoming the first skaters from their country to win the ISU European Championship.

Yet, stepping from continental success to Olympic gold is a far bigger leap, and doing so against established world champions makes that task especially difficult.

Women's figure skating Olympics odds

The women's figure skating market is far more open, with no runaway favourite at the top. Kaori Sakamoto leads the odds at 2.50, but she's closely followed by Adeliia Petrosian and Alysa Liu.

Athlete Odds
Kaori Sakamoto 2.50
Adeliia Petrosian 3.00
Alysa Liu 4.00
Amber Glenn 6.50
Ami Nakai 13.00

Prediction

The difference-maker for us in this race is Alysa Liu, who has built big-event experience over the past few seasons. She announced herself with a bronze at the 2022 World Championships. She then took a major step up by winning gold at the 2025 World Championships. She has just claimed gold in the team event this weekend, so the momentum is clear.

Standing in her way is Kaori Sakamoto, one of the most reliable performers of this era. She already owns an Olympic bronze from 2022, team event silvers from both 2022 and 2026, three straight world titles between 2022 and 2024, and a world silver in 2025. However, we're backing Liu to peak at the right moment and win Olympic gold in women's singles.

For more than a decade now, I've been enjoying the world of MMA and boxing. And any match is always a little more interesting to watch if you have a bet placed. That's why I analysing teams, its formations and strategies, following fighters and its techniques, comparing the mental and physical preparation before every fight, watching behind-the-scenes videos of training sessions to accurately weigh the chances of winning.
