On Thursday evening, FC Utrecht will welcome Nottingham Forest in their first-ever head-to-head meeting. The result could play a decisive role in Utrecht's European campaign, as they have collected just one point from their opening five matches and are in a must-win situation. Nottingham, meanwhile, are aiming for a win that would strengthen their position in the top 1/16 and potentially push them into the top eight of the Europa League main phase.

Utrecht came to this season after one of their best seasons in a very long time. They finished fourth, just four points away from the Champions League Qualifiers. Nottingham team overview
Last year, Nottingham have had a great season with Nuno Espirito Santo, almost reaching the Champions League. However, due to disagreements with the board, the coach was sacked, and Ange Postecoglou was appointed. Under him, the Forest have been absolutely terrible, and the club decided to sack him too. Now, under Sean Dyche, the Forest started to play better. They escaped the relegation zone in the PL and are currently in 17th place with 15 points from 15 rounds. And in the EL, the Forest are in a good position, sitting in 16th place with eight points from five rounds.
The team have a massive problem with injuries, considering they could miss up to ten players due to injuries or illnesses. The last name on the injury sheet is Ryan Yates, who suffered an injury in the previous game vs Everton.

Utrecht are in bad form, having won just once in the last six games. They have struggled offensively, scoring one or zero goals in seven of the previous nine games across the competitions. And in the EL, they have been atrocious offensively, scoring two goals. Primarily due to a bad offense, they went under 2.5 goals in four out of five EL games - 80%.
